The Ojai Cook Bite Back Tartar Sauce, 12 Ounce (Pack of 2)

This stuff is so delicious, but I can't find it in any of my local stores anymore, not even the Whole Foods. (I used to stop there JUST for this tartar sauce, that's how much I love it.) Has a nice spicy kick and frankly I'm not terribly interested in fish unless I get to slather it with this stuff. :D Thank goodness practically everything is available to order online now; this arrived quick and really well packaged in a two-pack, and I've already come back to order a second batch, since I've eaten my way through the first. Very happy to be able to get this again!

This is a nice sauce for fish and seafood, but it isn't a true tartar sauce from my POV. I didn't taste any capers in it and it does have a pronounced kick from the hot peppers and those attributes set it apart from the classic tartar sauce. That said, we like it a lot.

I'm not even a fan of tartar sauce, but liked a couple of the other Lemonaises with Chipotle The Ojai Cook Lemonaise, Chipotle, 12 Ounce (Pack of 2) and with Jalapeno chilis The Ojai Cook Lemonaise, Latin, 12 Ounce (Pack of 2) by this company, so tried it. Wow, brilliant lemony flavor, as you'd expect from the makers of Lemonaise. Not really as strong as I might make myself, but lost easier to prepare (open the jar). Great on grilled shrimp if you are in the mood for a change from the normal taste. only organic natural chemicals used.

The 'heat' in the tartar is different; that's why I tried it (True Cajun, I'm not-New Mexican, I am LOL) however, it was a bit overwhelming removing the tartar flavor. Maybe just a 'hint' of the 'heat? That said, One man's 'overwhelming is another man's bland'; same as what is hot and what is not.

I'm a diabetic that loves seafood and has a real longing for tartar sauce. Unfortunately, most tartar sauces are not kind to my blood sugar. Except for this one!It has a fantastic taste and has no effect on my blood sugar. Well worth buying!

In my opinion the best Tarter sauce ever. I love the subtle heat. I use this in so many ways- I add a bit to tuna or egg salad, mix it in my homemade salad dressing, add a dab to cashew sauce as a yummy dip for roasted vegetables, I spread a thin layer on fish I am baking like halibut or salmon- it's so good.

Another Ojai Cook product hard to find. Delicious tang, more robust than most tartar sauces.
