Tecnu Extreme Poison Ivy & Oak Scrub, Poison Ivy Treatment, Removes Poisonous Plant Oils That Cause Rash and Itching

I suppose it works ? (Edited at bottom) I’m the guy that knows that gasoline or brake cleaning spray is the kill-all for anything that ails you. But circumstances this year changed my mind. I had one of those Kerosine rocket heaters in the garage for the winter that, as we all know, runs on diesel fuel. And I admit I wasn’t aware that poison ivy is one of 3 things that can survive all year long as well as the end of days like taxes and roaches. Poison ivy oil is forever. Trust me. So I was doing stupid things in the forest for days on end in the cold and knew I had poison ivy. It’s cold, I’m in the garage which was heated by the diesel fuel heater that looks like a jet engine. And those heaters turn off when the temp gets high enough. So the heaters off, I’m almost naked and covered in gasoline which I smartly toweled off. I hit some spots with brake cleaner spray which is all over the place and I’m holding my breath from the gas and spray fumes until I dry off. My normal poison ivy treatment routine. But, Those rocket heaters have a distinct start up sequence that you’ll never forget. It’s like 2 seconds long. You hear the fan go on, some weird thrushing sound and then BOOM, ignition. So after that mishap i tried this ointment. It makes the itching go away for hours but it really really really irritates the skin. Like, you’ll get massive welts and oozing from existing rashes for sure and then they’ll die down. I’ve been using it for 4 days and I don’t think it’s spreading and it’s possibly helping. I am hopeful. This stuff has sand or rocks in it which I hope helps remove the oils and not spread the oil. Reviews say it works EDIT: this works. Without any medication or steroids I actually got rid of my poison ivy and now find myself trying to locate this at a better price. It’s priced accordingly but I wish I could get more for the same price. I use this on my entire body now any time I’m in the woods and that’s like 2x a week. I’m also trying their “original” version which doesn’t have the glass fragments inside it but without that skin cutting feeling I’m afraid it’s not as effective. I’m cautiously switching to the original version. In my opinion, if you get any part of your body that has death-ivy on you…this will remove it. I wish they made this in tablet form cause I’d eat it. It works.

What a wonderful effective product!!! We have a lot of poison oak, poison ivy, and other plants around the ranch that cause itching and rashes that spread immediately if not treated on day 1. This gets rid of the itching oil tha doesn’t go away by itself for weeks. Some days later after cutting brush we are covered with hundreds of itchy spots. We have found that if we use this Tecnu Scrub as part of a 3 step approach we see 90% rashes gone in 1 day, 96% in 2 days, 100% by 7 days. Only works 100% if applied on day 2 or earlier by applying Scrub for one minute and scrub hard, followed by rinse in shower and pat dry, apply spray over all affected areas and let dry for 30 minutes, then you must apply the gel as last step. Guys this is the only approach and product we have found that absolutely works day one! Nothing else even comes close don’t waste your time itching! Severe exposure to legs and arms and pretty much full body are now cured 96% in 2-3 days versus what used to take weeks of torture!!! Get some now!

This stuff is AMAZING!!!! So I’ve been struggling with a poison oak rash for over a week now. I didn’t realize it at first and after a ton of google research it was determined I got into poison oak. I have been itching and itching and itching with my rashes getting worse by the day. Calamine helped a little but not alot. I found this on Amazon and trusted the reviews. I was skeptical but based on the reviews I was still hoping it would work. I got my delivery at 6pm today, opened it up used the scrub and followed the directions to a T. I have washed my arm with this stuff 4 times this evening mainly because I’m paranoid and want it to work. My rash area has not felt this clean and at ease since this issue arose last week. I feel so clean my rash is already improving, some of the blisters are completely gone. I’m still A LITTLE, just a little, itchy, but I feel a million times better. I’m completely new to outdoor work and being outdoors but this is a life saver. A must have in your medicine cabinet! 🥰🥰 it is a little pricey but it doesn’t break the bank and I could not be happier, I am OVER THE MOON!!!

This is an amazing product. I have huge trees and different types of poison ivy around my tree area and constantly in my yard. Use this when it arrived and itching stopped. I used twice a day. It took the oils out fast and dried it up. This is a keeper

Ok so I get poison oak really bad and I love the outdoors. I live in the mountains I ride dirt bikes bike and hunt I do my own yard work on a few acres and get hit with poison oak, (that’s what is common here) pretty often. Since I was a kid I have tried everything most home remedies don’t work well. My aunt a backwoods rescue for Mt Ashland told me to use tecnu original some 10 years ago it’s great if you know you got into some oak or sumac and wash right away but if not it doesn’t do much for the rash So you are sol. About 5 years ago I found zanfel also a great product for when you have poison oak rash but the price is insane! 45$ for zanfel! Then I found tecnu extreme! Great price has the same wash and scrub, oh the scrub feels sooo good! Even better than zanfel it has a nice cooling feeling at first contact with the rash, tecnu extreme is the best most soothing poison oak scrub! Truth be told I’m now at day 6, first 2 just using tecnu extreme, rash was bad still 30-40% of my body so on day 3 I started prednisone and steroid lotion today day 6 rash is almost gone except the worst spots and they are red but smooth no longer leather. The tecnu products mainly the extreme wash will sooth and keep from spreading the toxic oil, the anti itch spray will get you through the day with your sanity and skin In tact until your next scrub. If you get poison oak get tecnu extreme!

I had bought another poison ivy relief product that was not doing much and ordered this. This product is magic! One good scrub and the rash is dying down immediately. I wish I had had this product from the beginning and I am glad to have it in my medicine cabinet for the next time.

I have used Tecnu Extreme and Tecnu original formula. The Extreme version is a much better product, and worth the premium cost. It is a completely different formulation too. I have always washed as soon after exposure as I could, but would just do it once. This time, however, I tried washing many times, over several days, whenever the itching urge could no longer be ignored. I'd wet my hands, and rub a small dab into the affected area for about 30 seconds, then rinse off and pat dry. This way, I found that the Tecnu Extreme killed the urge to itch the area for several hours. And I healed more quickly, probably because repeated washing did a better job of removing all traces of the poison oak oil.

After trying calamine lotion, baking soda, and several anti-itch products for my poison ivy, I finally got relief with this product. It is helping it run the cycle and has greatly relieved the horrible itching. If I ever catch it again (I hope not!) this will be my go-to. It would have saved me days of misery. Highly recommend, but get using it right when you feel itchy bumps coming up. At first I thought it was mosquito bites, so I was scratching like crazy, a big no-no with poison ivy. This product relieved the itching that was driving me crazy.
