Blind Melon: Live at the Metro - September 27, 1995

If you are a fan and reading this to decide if it's worth buying, you probably haven't seen any of the Metro clips. I haven't read any of the reviews. I did see some of the clips before buying. I just wanted to make sure it was the September 27th gig (there are other recordings at the Metro on different dates). Other people can debate the sound quality, the lighting, the tracks left out, etc. I was a fan before seeing this. I never saw them live. This particular concert, this particular night, it's going to put you through some changes. So beautiful; so heartbreaking.If you like your music perfectly mixed, timed, and tuned, this probably isn't for you. If you like it with the imperfections, the scratches, a little out of tune at times, I'd suggest picking this up ASAP. I'm fairly certain most Shannon Hoon fans would agree...life can be too short.

I knew Shannon, I already have this..I showed mine to my neighbor and he asked me if I could get it. He doesn't have internet. But he was over the moon...just like any fan of Shannon..he is missed and always remembered and cherished with whst he left us.🎶💙

This is a great live show.I would recommend this if you liked the band, and if you don't, well then, you don't know what you're talking about and why are you wasting time reading this review- go search for Maneudo you pansy!Anyway, this was a small venue show and really does a great job of capturing the feel and the energy that was in the room that night. I wish I could have been there. You really get to see how talented they were as a band and how truly strange Shannon Hoon really was. He was a great loss to the music world.

Blind Melon was a band that was way ahead of their time! Anyone who is sick of the new bands coming out today, this is a must have for those who want to listen to something good as well as a familiar point in time. They were robbed of so much potential when Shannon Hoon had overdosed in 1995 but their music was so unique that their fans will always be fans and their music will always be remembered!

Although this is a must have for every Blind Melon fan, It is a great DVD for rock fans to own. The music is great, the concert is excellent. The Bonus material includes 3 tracks recorded live on muchMusic. You might have gotten a little taste from the metro concert if you've seen Blind melon's Letters from a porcupine DVD, where some footage of this concert is shown. Bottom line: If you like blind melon or similar bands like pearl jam, stone temple pilots or alice in chains, I definitely recommend this DVD!

This is regarded by Blind Melon fans and the band themselves to be one of the best live shows they ever played. While you may find "better" performances/versions of some songs elsewhere, this was an extraordinary performance, and in fact, one of Shannon Hoon's last. The quality of the audio and video is excellent, and although the track listing is altered from the actual live performance, the continuity is preserved and probably even enhanced.

I now have a renewed appreciation for Blind Melon. I had no idea how great of a live band they were. I have always been a big fan of there music but did not get a chance to see them live. If your a Blind Melon fan this is a must have and if your not you wouldn't be sorry with this purchase. A group that can not be labeled...I miss the 90's.

What a terrible DVD. I'm no pessimist, this was recorded horribly. Either Shannon Hoon's voice is awful or the recording was. I suspect it was the latter. I will admit, I'm not a hardcore Blind Melon fan, but I'd downloaded some of their songs like mouth full of cavities et al..and was very impressed. I read the previous reviews and took the gamble of buying the DVD. What a mistake. I also bought Alice in Chains Unplugged which is excellent. If you want to see a grown man wearing makeup and flaling his hands like an octopus while shreeking to the crowd buy this. Otherwise save your money.

C'est un bon souvenir à conserver de ce groupe..Le chanteur et la musique est tellement exceptionnel! Mais la qualité du dvd est très amateur!

la mia band preferita, sono di parte, live della madonna, un shannon a pochi passi dalla morte e così in forma, unica pecca in questo e in altri live della band, manca mouthful of cavities, per il resto c'è tutto.

どうしてもこのライブが観たくてＲ1でもマルチリージョンのプレイヤーを購入する位の覚悟で購入したのですがあっさりと普通のプレイヤーで観れました。内容は95年9月27日のメトロ公演なのですが、この日の何曲かはDVD"Letters From a Porcupine"で既に収録されています。私はずっとこの日の最長版のライブが見たくて仕方が無かったので本当に今回のDVD化は嬉しいです。強いて難を挙げるとボーカルが少しOFF気味ですが内容は当然の如く最高で死期の迫ったシャノンの圧倒的な存在感を感じることが出来ます。もっと、多くの人に知ってもらいたい素晴らしいバンドなのですが初めての方はまず名盤"SOUP"を聞いてからがお勧めです。

I loved both DVD's. You find that with music, region 1, means "region free", anyway this disc captures the band in great form, both do. Shannon comes across brilliant in each one...... You know, if you're a Melon Head, well, you'll love them. I'm glad I got them when I still could.

自分のようなコアなファンは、恐らく前作ＤＶＤ同様、日本版は発売されないと思うので、すぐ買われる様お勧めします。前作ＤＶＤに一部収録されていた映像もありますが、全編ＢＬＩＮＤ　ＭＥＬＯＮの不思議なパワフルさが堪能できると思います。又、なんとなく興味があるだけの方も、まだ通して見（聞き）易い選曲だと感じます。ＤＶＤ動作は、ＰＳ２（ＳＣＰＨ−３００００）で再生出来ました。
