Fits our old John Deere la100 17hp vanguard b&s motor
Fit our john deere la100 mower with vanguard 17hp single cylinder motor. This does have the metal teeth, so I expect long life. Brought the old girl roaring back to life. If you think your battery is going bad and you get really long drawn out slow cranks, but know the battery is likely good, it is probably the starter.

I ordered wrong
This was a good buy. looked well made with good materials, I ordered it for a 22 hp engine, after re-checking the numbers I found it was for a lower hp rating, the starter motor would not turn the engine, the compression was higher than the windings in the starter motor were too light.

Returned first one, great second one
The first one I got was a dud. They QUICKLY returned and shipped second one (within a week). It worked great.

Excellent product
Bolted straight onto my old Briggs and Stratton (06 dlt 3000 Craftsman). Started up like it was brand new ! Got this in one day for a third of the price my local shop was going to change!!
