It's good that someone makes one. I am not a fan of the flap. It could have been done the old way. But it works.

Finally!! A company that understands the need for a low-profile, sleek solution to portable storage. The Mini Drive is exactly what I needed to expand the storage capacity of my MBP. Despite listing more cons below, I still give this product 5 stars because it just plain works. Most of the cons are little issues/desires that can be fixed in later versions.Pros-Does what it is designed to do: expand storage capacity of any computer with an SD car slot.-Works well with most computers and operating systems.-Removes the need to carry one more little techie device. (We all need that!)Cons-This version requires a small wire (A paper clip might work, but who carries those around?) to be carried with you to facilitate removal of the drive. This is mostly corrected now because they offer a Tool-Free version of the same drive.-The paint job on the exterior visible plate could be much closer to the Macbook. It has a very grainy texture and looks only so-so..-Maybe this is my computer, but periodically the Mini Drive gets ejected from the OS. Sometimes it occurs when I open the laptop, sometimes it does it randomly. It has NOT occurred when the Mini Drive is in use, which is great. Unfortunately, as mentioned before, you either have to physically remove the card and re-insert it with the wire tool, or restart the laptop in order to re-mount the drive. An annoyance, yes, but it has not caused any loss of data.Conclusion: I would buy another in a heartbeat. It also says a lot if the big tech companies (read:Transcend) have followed suit with their own version of flush-mount drives. Maybe Transcend already had the idea, but I tend to think this little startup company is challenging the status quo. Good for you Mini Drive!!UPDATE: My computer recently went in for repair at an Apple store. During the repair, they broke the faceplate off my MiniDrive. I informed MiniDrive of this incident, and they sent out a new faceplate right away at no cost to me! In fact they sent the new Tool-Free version. Not only does this faceplate seem to be made out of solid aluminum, it also matches the Apple silver paint much more closely, thereby making one of my niggles above a moot point. Fantastic customer service!! Keep it up MiniDrive.

Greatest thing since sliced bread. Small, flush, shows in the menu as a second internal drive, adds storage to an other wise perfect MacBook Pro Retina 13" without having to carry an external SSD or pocket full of USB. I'm upgrading to the TarDisk 256 model from the same manufacturer. I haven't seen any downsides so far. Would definitely recommend this for supplemental storage on a Mac.

wrong one sent, wasted money

Best option that you can go with, works as expected, small, does not protrude, and easily recognized by my Macbook Pro 2015 Retina Display, 13 inch. This was a crucial 'buy' as the new macbooks come with limited space due to the integration of SSD into apple's new laptops.Simply put, I love this product, great buy for needed extra space in a macbook with limited space. 100% recommend.

These guys are great. They standby their product. Had a problem with the item and their customer service was bar none the best I have had dealt with possibly ever. I would never hesitate to shop with them. They rock and the product is awesome. Thanks guys!

I purchased the MiniDrive 128gb to replace a StorEdge drive I had previously for a Macbook Air. This new drive is shorter and sits absolutely flush in my new MacBook Retina 13". Great drive and a fantastic way to expand storage in a Macbook.

Loving this. Fits super tight, just extended the life of my Mac because I have plenty 0 memory now! Yippee!
