Purchased this for my 8 year old granddaughter. It was one of my favorite books as I was growing up. She loves it too. My son said she wants to grow her own 'Secret Garden' this Spring. I'm so happy.

I bought this to read to my 6-year-old. She has now had me read it to her 3 times, asked questions to understand concepts she has not learned about and now wants to grow her own garden, just like Mary!

This version of The Secret Garden is perfect for grade school age children. The last pages are a wonderful glossary of words with page reference explaining Cockney words and uncommon terms. There is also a list of characters with explanation of their part in the story. Highly recommend.

Aside from some incorrect electronic format, such as sentenses changed lines in the middle of words, the story touches readers and gives strong impact. What made Mary and Colin, two important characters, so sour about themselves is that they were ignored for long time. By accepting who they are and what their flaws were by the most close persons blossom their livly characters. I like this classic book.

I enjoyed reading this again, as much as our grand did! Wonderful plot, theme, and story. Love it! Highly recommended!

I am now quite an old lady. I have never read this book and remarkably never seen the movie. It is now my habit to read with my headphones on listening to the Audible version as I read. What a glorious story! It cannot be overstated how much richness was added to the story by having the Audible version manage the Yorkshire dialect with native ease.

Whomever formatted this book did a horrible job. There’s strange line breaks that make reading this aloud difficult and feels unnatural. The bonus materials (glossary, historical info, and author info) is nice though.

Forget about your troubles and escape into the secret garden. I read this book in my youth and it fired my imagination then, I still am able to let my mind flow into the world of make-believe, and feel sure I owe that in part to this book.
