Am I using this item wrong, it says lite weight, but it us not. Hard to move around. Nay on impossible on vinyl floor.

Very strong suction - if set at maximum suction this vacuum will probably prove too strong to push for elderly, infirm or weak-of-limb persons as the vacuum sucks down and grips very strongly indeed on deeper-pile carpets or rugs, making the hoovering process quite hard work, although it picks-up very well.
It's not particularly pet-friendly as rollers/brushes continue to clog & bind as any other normal vacuum tends to do. This is especially true if, like me, you have a Samoyed dog or other pet that sheds fur, as this vacuum will indeed pick up her fur but you will still often have to manually de-fur the roller/brushes by hand.
Most annoyingly, the vacuum is indeed lightweight and to use it this ought to be a benefit, however, when the vacuum is standing upright it tends to fall over at the merest tug of whichever hose or attachment is being used - it just missed smashing the glass in an expensive floor to ceiling Dansk glass display cabinet in my lounge and on another occasion its rather tall handle narrowly missed my two-year old granddaughter who was near it when it toppled over for the umpteenth time. My dog has also received several near misses. Despite being continuously very careful when using it, the unit remains extremely unsteady 'on its feet.'
It's quite good on hard floors and tends to pick-up well at edges.
However, simply put, I just don't like this vacuum at all and cannot recommend it. Overall, it's nowhere near as pleasing to use as my much older Dyson.
This Shark unit, with its imbalanced weight distribution (not heavy enough at its base) makes its unsteadiness very annoying for anyone using it and of course this may have potentially dangerous implications when toppling over. Shark cordless might be better.
Price is ok.
