What is the difference between the ew 112p g4-a the ew 112p g4-g and the ew112p g4-a1?

Good day, and thank you for your question.  The only difference in these units is the frequency range they operate in.  A1= 470-516 MHz., A= 516-558 MHz., G= 566-608 MHz.  You can use our frequency finder to locate the frequency range with the most vacant/ light use frequency blocks.

Please keep in mind that this is a guide.  The RF environment changes every 300'.  A block that shows heavy use may have a lot of clean frequencies in it, and a block marked vacant may have a lot of unlicensed operators in it.  This helps you choose the range that will most likely be best for your zip code.  With the scanning features on your receiver, you should be able to find plenty of frequencies to use. Good day, and thank you for your question.  The EW  112-P G4 comes with one ME-2 Omnidirectional lavalier microphone, one SK 100 G4 body pack transmitter, and one EK 100 G4 body pack receiver.  Hopefully this helps, and have a good afternoon.

What is the difference between the me2-ii and me-4?  is the extra body pack just a backup or can it be used simultaneously with a handheld mic?

Hi Kenshun - the ME 2-ii and the ME 4 feature different polar patterns.  The ME 2 is known as an omni-directional microphone as it picks up equally in all directions, while the ME 4 is a cardioid microphone that has a directional characteristic, but suppresses ambient noise (which may be better in a loud environment, for example).  Another important point to note is that directional microphones - including the ME 4 - are more sensitive to wind noise so care needs to be taken when using them outdoors.  This system has a bodypack transmitter, which the ME 2-ii microphone is plugged into, and a bodypack receiver, which is generally mounted to a shoe mount on a DSLR or Camcorder.   If you're looking for a system to connect to a mixing console, you may want to search under "ew 100 G4-ME 2-II" for the equivalent rackmount variant.
