This is a wonderful text with extensive imagery. A great story to finally hit the presses, a hundred or so years later. It's one that will challenge many arts administrators and people who live in their left, rational brains only, and believe me there are many. However, because it deals openly and clearly with the unseen world of mediumship and psychic phenomena it touches the lives of many people who are both interested in the visual arts and in esoteric literature and spiritual practices. The authors/curators did a good job in their research and writing and the text has many coloured images filling the pages.My primary complaint is that the book would have supported an easier read just by putting page numbers in the body of the text when referencing images! How hard is that? I'm surprised by this omission. The list of illustrations are grouped by her series of works. It would have helped immensely to easily flip to the right image with a page reference.This should not prevent you from purchasing this wonderful book, however. It's a rarity and a great addition to your collection.

I wanted a truly in depth look at the work of Hilma af Klimt and this book does not deliver on that. To begin with, some of the information in the Forward is misleading and wrong. I also discovered that the book is a collection of essays about the artist by a variety of writers so there is nothing truly in depth because every piece is short and focuses on one aspect of her.I understand that Hilma af Klint is only beginning to be understood as an artist because her abstract work has only just recently been revealed to the art world, but I didn't learn anything new about her in this book. Everything in the book I'd already learned by watching a few YouTube videos about her.I was also hoping to be able to see a lot of her artwork, but there isn't a lot included in the book. The images are disappointingly small and the colors are very muted.I can't recommend this book but I am hopeful that something better will be published soon as more research is done and more of her art is scanned.
