Activation hassle if you buy it from Amazon
Phillips Lifeline says that you can not activate this product online if purchased from Amazon. You must call Phillips Lifeline and carefully dictate a long list of important information such as contact phone numbers and building access codes. This process is bound to lead to errors. If you order the system directly from Phillips, you get the pendent, the base station, and are able to activate the system online. This information comes from a Phillips Lifeline representative.UPDATE: After waiting for a supervisor to call back, he explained the real process. Once you purchase the service, they send you a link to enter all your information online. The original customer service representative was incorrect. I'll add a star.

Lifeline Alert, great product
We got the Lifeline Alert for my mother. She had a stroke and fell.We really like that the Lifeline Alert has fall detect. When she had her first stroke she wasn't aware of her surroundings but the people at Lifeline Alert were right there on the phone asking if she was OK.It made us feel more secure knowing she had it.

I feel so much better knowing my mom has the AutoAlert
I feel so much better knowing my mom has the AutoAlert. She falls regularly because of her neuropathy, and this give her the assistance she needs. I appreciate the peace of mind it gives me knowing she has that if she falls when she's alone.

A home life saving device, feel secure
I got this for my elderly mother, she has used it 5 times and every time it has sent help. Twice were life and death situations. She is still with us because of Philips lifeline. She has fallen and received help twice. Not sure about the woman on here complaining about hers not working with her falls, they do have two models make sure that your model supports fall alerts.

Used/recycled units being sold as new?!
Spent two hours trying to help my Aunt install/activate this device. This was purchased direct from the company being sold as new, but appears to be a "recycled" from another user. Activating the device ultimately requires "testing" it by making a "help" call, but each time we did this, the previous user's (now deceased?!) name/address/etc. was still coming up on their system. The operators taking the "help" call were clueless, and instructed us to call the "customer service" number. We called that, was told it was the "sales" line, and then we were transferred to yet another department. We were told to wait an hour and then try the "help" button again. Same result. The last time before I had to leave we were told to wait 24 hours for my aunt's information to get registered on the device/system. Brilliant...I told my aunt to sleep tight and make sure not to have a seizure or heart attack while this outfit gets their sh*t straightened out. Maybe we just got a lemon, but so far this has been a big disappointment. And the personnel on the help/call line sound like your typical call center employees reading from a script with no ability/capability to actually listen and answer a question as part of a regular human conversation.

Fall auto detect does not work!
We purchased lifeline for its fall detection capability. In the last year our mother fainted and fell 4 times and Lifeline failed to detect any of those falls. I don't believe the fall detection works at all and would recommend not wasting your money on this product.
