Button making is therapeutic... and addictive
I bought this button maker in February and am in love with it. I am about halfway through the free button pieces it came with, but I already want a larger size to add to the possibilities of what I can make. I use a free vector program, Inkscape, to create my button designs. A caution to first-time users: the moving parts of the button maker are coated in a lubricating goo. Don't try to wipe it away! This is intended, and it's to prevent wear and tear on the machine. Another cool thing about this button maker is that the base has a hole on either end so it can actually be attached to a sturdy work surface. The DVD that comes with it includes a template which shows the full size to cut out, as well as the surface area that will show on the face of the button. They also sell die cutters for button makers, but you can get a circle template from the drafting area of your local craft store, a swivel X-acto knife, and a cutting mat and do it by hand just as well. This is my favorite thing to do after a long day at work now. It's so satisfying to punch a button.

My Daughter loves it. Now she wants one that makes bigger buttons! But I don't think her purse and/or backpack could hold all of them. ;-)

Great machine!
Arrived quickly. The paper instructions are like reading another language.It was so confusing and intimidating I actually set this machine aside for over a month before I decided to sit down and figure it out. Says it comes with a DVD. I put it in and nothing...it's more of a CD with templates and free clip art....I did do some searching and found the site, "http://thebuttonguy.net/videos.html" which had the tutorials. So worth the watch. These are so simple and easy to follow. After watching one video I was up and running and addicted to this machine!! Love it!!! It came with some sample parts to make things other than a pin back, which was nice. The only con I have is that it's a serious pain in the butt to try and reorder some supplies. I can't find where to buy the stuff. And the only option for pinback on amazon by the same people has some over priced shipping! YIKES! With that said I still greatly recommend this item to anyone!
