Great gadget
The second one I've bought. Makes rice washing so much faster. If you eat a lot of rice, it will speed things up.

Yes, made in Japan! Perfect!
My family eats a lot of Japanese rice, the short grain or the sushi rice as it is called here. This is perfect for washing it and taking out all the white starch. The plastic is sturdy and the product well made. Made in Japan! Perfect for the job, speeds up my routine of cooking rice.

It is effective
Not much to say. It is better than an ordinary bowl. 99% of the water rinses away. It is difficult to clear all of the rice from the bowl but it is achievable with persistence.

Perfect little bowl
Just makes life so much more simple! Where has this been all my life? So used to doing the bowl and strainer method (where I always end up, knocking the strainer upside down to empty it and rice flying everywhere). Oh yes, a few grains do make it through the strainer, but I just call those the “bad egg”! It’s completely worth it and I wish my mother had one of these when I was young and she taught me how to make rice. I only recently read the back of a bag of rice when my kids were about to boil a vat of water and talked about “straining it before serving”. Had to teach them the proper way - the water 90%of rice eating nations make it. And there’s no strained watery and rubbery rice!

Useful and versatile
This is a big bowl and useful for not only rinsing rice, but all fruit, vegetables and dried beans and pulses. You can also use it as a colander. The 2.5 quart is the size I ordered as it has the drainage holes in the bottom. It is big for me for a one to two portion of rice, but I am keeping it because I will use it. Being bigger, you just have to consider storage, especially, if, like me, you have a small kitchen.

USEFUL
Five stars for its usefulness. Washes and drains allsorts. Too expensive. Would only be a couple of quid on a market or high street shop.

Good quality rice cleaning bowl
Great bowl . Best rice cleaning bowl. Ive used sinks, bowl, mesh bowls. Changed water 6 times, till water runs clear. This is the best i have use by far. Weve all suffered from wallpaper paste rice. This produces individual grain basmati Perfect.
