I gave this gift to my father for Christmas. He is a history buff and he loved it!!

This book is well researched and loaded with photographs and drawings. An interesting aspect to this volume is that it identifies current locations of the forts that were constructed around Washington, DC. Well worth the price if you are interested in this topic.

This book is great for the Civil War or DC history buff. I am both. I also grew up very close to two of these forts as well as one of the cannon battery positions placed between the forts, so I particularly loved it.

I collect, take photos of civil war markers, this book provides a wealth of information, not only about the sites, but also how to locate them.I have read the book and am in the process of locating the sites. I am extremely happy with the results thus far.

When my book arrived it looked good it was a paper back cover , the first time I opened it, all the glue must have dried out that held the pages together because as I looked through every single page came unglued and fell out . Every page !!! So in order to fix the problem I had to purchase a hole punch and a three ring binder and I had to mount the pages into that .
