I like that it comes in the smaller portion bags so that way if I want to make me so soup or something like that every once in awhile they are still fresh as opposed to buying the bigger bags located in markets near me.

We rescue and currently are caring for 14 cats. All but one love this! We call it Kitty Crack because we literally have to hide it in a closet or the cats would tear into it. I have to keep it around or we would fear for our lives!

Good value for the money

the price is too expensive. That is why I will not buy this anymore.

Disclaimer: I do not know anything about how to judge Bonito Flakes.I needed some for some recipe, and these worked perfectly. i.e. they tasted good to me. They come in many small plastic bags, and that's very convenient.If you happen to be an expert in Japanese food, you could have a different opinion. :-)

To start off I personally do not like Bonito Flakes, but my cats love them. once I tore this bag open the smell of fish filled up the whole room and my cats went wild over them. If you are looking at this review and trying to decide if this is something you can give to your cats it definitely is, Just in small moderation as it can give cats bowels problems so stick to 2 times a week and you should be fine.

Sorry, Asian cooks, don't be offended... I order these for my cats. Cat owners, you know those flavors of canned cat food your kitties don't absolutely love, or those days when they turn up their nose at anything you serve them? Well my kitties can't resist their food when I mix bonito flakes in. I also give the flakes alone, for a treat.

I was hoping I could use this product to enhance the flavor of home-made fish cakes. Didn't work. They have a nice fish flavor, but not strong enough to work in fish cakes. Were I more creative, I could find some use for the product, but nothing has motivated me to date.
