Nagano White Miso Paste 2.2 Lb.

The package was cracked and the product leaked throughout the wrap around it. I returned it but have not heard anything back. It has been well over a month that I returned it.

This White Miso by Nagano is wonderful, we use it in our recipes, and is beneficial to the health of the individual. We recommend that you cook the vegetables first, then lower the temperature and then add the miso, and stir it in. We have tried many brands, and we can tell you this is delicious.

This Miso paste makes a fantastic soup stock, as well as a fish marinade or fish gravy stock. It's low in sodium, for those watching sodium intake, reasonably and has deliciously unique taste. The only reason I rate it with 4 stars is the better taste of Minute Misohttp://www.amazon.com/Hikari-Misos-Minute-Miso/dp/B001P4R23I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1297861877&sr=8-1However, due to Minute Miso's price I would rate Minute Miso with 4 stars too.

Multiply the cost of white miso paste by 5 before deciding to order, because shipping is outrageously expensive. Packaging on the website is misleading, as you will not receive it in a resealable container. Taste is good, but find a very clean, airtight container to store it in your fridge.

Old Review: This is a very smooth, excellent-tasting mellow miso. I use it in soups, vegan recipes where I'm attempting to approximate cheese flavor, etc. It keeps for a very long time in the fridge, too (like, close to a year lol... don't know if I'm supposed to do that, but it tastes good!). I'm a satisfied repeat buyer :)New Review (10/28/14): I just ordered this and received the wrong product (Yamabuki Shiro Miso - which is a reddish color; I haven't opened it to taste, but it looks more like red miso). I saw another review that said they got the wrong product but thought it might be a fluke. Please be aware there is a good chance you'll receive the wrong product AND you can't return it!!

Too many other things you have to buy to make this. Not happy with this

We have used this Miso now in a couple of recipes including Miso/Shitake Mushroom soup. It tastes great and seems a bit less salty than others we have tried.I recommend it and would buy it again (but it will take a while to go through 2+ lbs. of it).

This is very tasty miso. It's a generous amount. It was packed fairly, but still had a little tiny bit of leakage when I opened it which resulted in my having to toss the packaging and store it in a tupperware for future use. Otherwise everything is great! Can't wait to use it for soups, salad dressings, and marinades.
