Trekking poles.
I did not expect much when I purchased these, a friend recommended trekking poles to assist me in walking. Unfortunately, due to physical issues, I use a cane to walk, hence walking any kind of distance is not easy or fun. Well, these poles are amazing, easy to use, very durable and they have made walking easier and fun again. I use them on relatively flat surfaces and on even ground. They are easy to adjust for length, and for me anyway, they stay at the length I find comfortable, with occasional tightening of the screws. I went from being skeptical of trekking poles to now finding they are life changing for me. I even bought a back up pair just in case.

SERVES THE INTENDED PURPOSE
I bought two sets of the walking sticks for light hiking and snowshoeing.My husband has knee problems and this has helped him and we are going for walks in the winter forest trail and enjoying it as we have just retired in the Laurentians. The trekking poles are not collapsing and staying locked in position when used for this purpose as we are not trailblazers but they seem quite satisfying.They have provided us with proper stability and make it fun to go for the walks knowing we can test the ground in the snow, preceding our steps, and feel confident using them properly. Needs replacement snow baskets
They work as expected, but they now basket broke off in second use in soft snow. :(

Tested on the West Coast Trail , BC
Bought these poles a couple months before my 8 day hike on the West Coast Trail in BC, they took me through some of the toughest terrain I've ever hiked through and survived whatever I threw at them. I'm a tall person with a larger build and had a 40 to 45 lbs pack on, so the poles supported me fine with all that weight. They saved my life a few times as I used them to keep from tumbling down a steep edge.Great product! I managed to also get them wedged in roots or boardwalk and they flexed as I got stuck in mid step, never warped or bent. I have a bit of sand in them now so they are a bit harder to slide out to desired height, but I think you can slip the sections out and wash them so they work smoothly.
