Buy the best, other stuff is often trash
I've been using Rescue Tape for many years, since I became an Amateur Radio operator ("ham") - on the recommendation of many "Elmers" (mentors), I started using it to seal weather intensive coax fitting connections - it is waterproof, lasts forever, and works great.I've since used it for many, many other things, and it always comes through. Other brands, not so much - I've had them breakdown after a year or two in the coastal weather, they don't stretch as well, and they don't fuse as well.Buy the best, buy Rescue Tape.

A temporary fix, great find!
I decided to give this a try after seeing the reviews. I have a leak in my kitchen sink on two PVC pipes. My landlord is very slow to fix things, so this was my temporary solution. (I don't want to move because my rent is exceptional and the neighborhood is great) I tried this on one side and used the whole roll to be absolutely certain that it would stay in place. Like other reviews mentioned, it is difficult for the tape to stick to anything but itself. I found that when I started wrapping the tape, I needed to hold one spot in place and then stretch the tape as far as I could and then start wrapping it around itself. Once I had the first wrap done, it was very easy for me to start building the other layers of tape around it. I ordered another roll for the other side of my sink and it has seemed to be holding up pretty well on each side. They have both been wrapped with tape for around 2 weeks. I noticed a tiny bit of leaking the first two-three days after wrapping, but now I see no leaks at all. I think over time, the tape fuses to itself more. I had to keep buckets under my sink for a long time and now I don't have to worry about them anymore.I understand that this is a temporary fix, but this was much easier (for the moment) than hassling my landlord or trying to replace the sink myself (which I really don't want to spend the money on). My advice to others would be to take your time while wrapping the tape around whatever you need to. If you have a bigger project, I would suggest buying two rolls at a time to be safe. It's quite easy to run out of one roll if you're not paying close enough attention like I did.I am satisfied with my purchase and it has provided me peace of mind with leaky sink pipes.

Works! It's like a sci-fi invention, it works so well.
I'm sorry I did not take a before picture or video. I ordered this on April 7 and it arrived within a few days I used it on April 11th and was impressed right away but wanted to see if it would last. It has, doing a job I never thought would work.We live in an old Los Angeles apartment which has its charms and its disadvantages. The handy man means well but good intentions do not make good plumbing. The kitchen sink needed to be reseated. That was accomplished but the the ensuing pipe misalignment was a joke. Could literally twang and move the white plastic pipe like a cartoon banjo. Did that obvious one first, had success and then realized the leak on the right. Used to keep a bowl or pan under the sink. Like some kind of animal.Applied this tape, using the suggested method of__pulling tight, wrapping a strip clockwise and then another strip counter clockwise.__It worked right away and has held tight for over a month. I buy a lot on Amazon but rarely review. This hasd improved my life so much I felt compelled to share. If you need it, GET THIS!

Useless
Product did nothing. Had 2 pinhole leaks in a copper pipe and I needed a temp solution so I could run water through it until I could get plumber. Wrapped this tape after stretching it and 50% overlap exactly as described in instructions. First wrapping did nothing, so tried 2nd, 3rd and 4th wrappings....after about 20 seconds water came through 1 end of tape and through middle section of taping. Very disappointing.

Great stuff
This self-fusing tape is excellent and strong. It has to be stretched at least double length while applying it; sometimes it's hard to keep it clean while applying. It can stand a bit of dirt no problem, but not anything that covers a large percentage of the area. It's been in common use in the marine world for a decade, just starting to trickle into the automotive market. This *will* make a good bandage for a coolant leak as long as the hose is stiff enough to not collapse while the tape is being applied. Applying over a wet surface should be ok, but getting wet in between the layers will probably interfere with it curing. Cures well enough to use in a minute or so. For the old folks, this is the silicone version of electrician's rubber tape, but much stronger and more durable. Overlap the turns at least 50%.

Hard To Apply
No doubt if the product can be applied as the directions instruct, it would work well. However, you are to stretch the tape up to 300% of its original length to make it work properly. In doing so, it was impossible (for me) to maintain the tape flat so that it wrapped the hose with full surface contact without folds or wrinkles which, of course, undermine its effectiveness. Did the best I could and was unable to seal the leak. If the leak is toward either end, better to cut the hose, buy a new connector fitting with clamp at the hardware store, and do a permanent repair.

Unique
I've never used a tape of this type but my first use was very effective. Clings to itself remarkably well.
