(If you're putting up 2x4 house framing or installing a deck, this is not your deal.) And there's nothing gender specific about this hammer, though they probably think it's lighter weight makes it female. Weight is perfect for almost any apartment/condo job you can think of. The short handle makes it easy to store - the head is close to a standard hammer size, though weight is about half.
