Finally a shiatsu seat that works really well
Full disclosure, I have never been a fan of massage seats, they have always disappointed. Due to chronic lower back pain I bought this one on its recommendations and boy, it doesn't disappoint at all. Firstly it is well boxed with no wasted plastic and rubbish (which is important) and immediately ready to use. Though I read the instructions you really don't need to, the controls are very intuitive and easy to use. The back pad gives a firm but not painful massage from very low to a reasonable height. I am 6'4" so the top of the back massage is just below my shoulder blades, but my wife is 5' as the back pad covers her back well. I am not disappointed with this cover for myself as it works well and feels great. The neck massage is truly height adjustable and I can vary this from my shoulders to the top of my neck, once again a firm and comfortable massage. (NOTE, my 5' wife found the neck massage was too high for her and didn't use it. However this is not a serious problem as the neck massage on this is really a support for the back massage and if you really need intense neck massage you should get a massage pillow that you can lie on and not use this in a seated position...it works much better for the neck). I have never been a fan of vibration massage and I did not know this had air massage points so I was not worried about these. I sat down and tried the back massage (excellent) experimented with spot massage on certain points (works excellently) and played with the neck massage (very nice) and then I saw the button marked "Auto". I pressed this and...OMG...WOW...it just started to combine all the elements including vibration and air massage and I nearly melted. The total effect is beyond the sum of the parts and each work well together, constantly altering and changing slowly to give a relaxing but never boring massage. I now use these even if I'm doing a spot massage on my lower back as the added vibration and air squeezing etc all help you relax into the important bit of the massage. Given that you can set this chair to focus on one thing, or do several...or just go on auto it is very, very flexible. And believe me, when you press auto it just takes over and carries you away, it's honestly wonderful. For direct problems I would say this chair is most suitable for back issues. You can focus on lower back or mid back etc and get an intense massage. If you put a cushion behind the rigid back so that you are laying back on it at an angle of about 20 to 25 degrees then the pressure increases and the massage is more intense. For neck massage it is fine, it will definitely help, but as I say for more intense neck massage you are better with a massage pillow. However, to get the neck massage as an extra while your back is being relaxed is brilliant. The seat mechanisms, vibration and air massage, are very pleasant in association with the rest but are not in themselves very therapeutic so this is not for really useful for problems with the Gluts or leg muscles. (No massage chair would be good for that, it is a different area and probably needs manual massage). However the intense back massage, the decent neck massage and the overall relaxing and therapeutic feel of the whole thing working together is WAY beyond my expectations and this is the first massage chair I would recommend in any way, and I recommend it very strongly. NOTE; It is easy to fold the seat up and slide this into a small space when not in use, easy and quick to get back out and very intuitive to use with an excellent controller. If you have a sore back, or if you just want the option to sit down for 15 minutes whenever you want and be treated to a delightful massage and pamper then get this, you won't be disappointed. I am not connected to this company and this is a neutral and non-biased review based only on my personal experience. Jeremy

Very sturdy product
I received the product today and first time tried it - it is as if the designer had everything in mind, the remote control has really nice design, the motor ‘/rollers are powerful and strong. At £199, at first I was wondering if it was the same as the Comfier had the price dropped to around £157. Snailax advertised as an “upgrade” and I can confirm the upgrade is the additional rollers for the back so you have 4 rollers instead of two! So I can understand why it’s £199, same price as the dollars sold in the (US? $199). 🤔 Tomorrow I will try the product on a recline position as shown by other proud owners on this review. The only thing that did not fit properly, is the office chair which is ergonomically designed - Herman Miller. If you have this office chair you will see the back is curved in whereas Snailax needs a flat surface, so it will never fit in. I had to find a chair with a flat back to enjoy the first session. It felt really good, I was surprised the head roller would work on my shoulders, 10/10. With nice music on the background, it was a good 15 mins work out. Update 26/10/26. After 2 months, the massager is still in the same chair and still happy using it. At first, the roller was quite hard and notice one other customer mentioned the same. I think if you use it gently and not lean on the rollers too hard and let the hardness settle, your body will adapt over time to the hardness of the roller. It worked for me. Now it’s approaching winter, aches and pains on shoulders or headache even, this massager does bring relief, just ensure you turn in the heat to enjoy the session.

**8.1/10 Does NOT Reach Full Back - Requires Cushions to Adjust Height. Great Massage Though**
Before I go into detail, I would like to say that this massage chair has some elements that could be improved... that's not to say it's necessarily 'bad', in-fact, it IS rather pleasurable & effective - it just requires 'adjustments' in order to fully reach certain areas, if preferred (though wholly depending on height/torso-length). The reason that I decided to purchase this chair, was mainly due to my aggressive full-body arthritis, that causes me persistent problems on a major scale. My past experience has taught me that massages are extremely beneficial to the recovery & relief of such symptoms and I currently do not have the mobility (or facilities) to accommodate a massage therapist! I do own a much smaller, static version that fits on the neck or lower-back (lumbar) and a powerful massage gun, but I never really felt much relief from these - more of an inconvenience if anything! It was a choice between this one and the "Comfier" model/version, which is pretty much the same - after a lot of research & contemplation, it was clear that the 'Snailax' model was the much more 'preferred' choice. When receiving the package, I was not aware of how BIG & HEAVY the entire thing really was! It also did not help that the 'handle' at the top of the box was actually SEALED away by being shipped & delivered in ANOTHER box, the same size, but WITHOUT the handle! (I only found the second box with the handle after opening the external box; what's the point of that? Both Snailax boxes, so was shipped by manufacturer like this)… As a result, it was VERY awkward to handle and I had to request assistance from a stranger, because the driver wasn't prepared to help me bring it up to my flat. I was very surprised by how heavy this massage chair is - nothing like the ones I have had before! (But similar design + functions). The back of it is completely SOLID, it has an incredibly robust foundation. There are a series of straps, to keep it in place if you wish to use it on an office, dining or gaming chair; goes without saying that it fits on any sofa, etc... but I have found it useful to 'prop' it up/support it, via placing pillows/cushions/blankets at the sides/slightly underneath the edges to keep it from falling to one side when in use! For something as expensive as this, you'd expect it to fully reach from your lower-back to your upper-shoulder area, but, if you are about 5ft 6", it will only reach the base of the shoulder-blades, just above the middle of the back! (Obviously if you are shorter, it will be perfect, but the neck nodules will not be accessible unless you seat yourself on a stack of cushions). If you're taller, the neck nodules can effectively be lowered and used on your shoulders. If you wish to make an area accessible, you will have to adjust your seated position/height in order to accommodate those height-margins... whether by raising, or lowering yourself - this can become exceptionally tedious and completely ruins the experience and 'flow'. The anticipation of it about to reach a desired area and then stopping, really becomes irritating/aggravating, especially when you are genuinely in a deeply relaxed & tranquil state... it does spoil the moment at times! Sometimes it will feel too weak on your lower-back but too intense on your mid-upper + neck sections - the best thing to do is either adjust your posture/position and/or add/remove a blanket to the appropriate area/s + maybe remove or 'alter' the included intensity cover. For me, the vibration from the 2 nodes within the seat, feel like they're a bit too far forward, it would be better if they were placed more towards the back of the seat, as you have to push your lower-back in to allow the nodules to massage you well. It does has 3 different modes that offer unique, dynamic rhythms of varying intensities, that are relaxing in their own ways/patterns. The neck massage is a bit 'touch ad go' sometimes, because it doesn't always 'hit the spot' even after repositioning the nodules via the controller. But when it does feel great, it can get a bit 'rough' on the skin, even with the intensity cover on top - the friction builds-up over time. The back massage, as aforementioned, can feel more intense on the upper regions, as compared to the lower, but when you find that right 'balance', it can be divine, trance-like even! It has the option for 'Full Back', 'Lower Back' & 'Upper Back'. The 'Spot' function, which will stop the back massage nodules from travelling up/down and keep them on a specific area, does NOT work how you would expect it to... As other people have mentioned, it destroys any 'flow' by only moving in 1 and a half rotation, stopping for what seems like a LONG time, before reversing 1 and a half turns and stopping for another LONG time and then repeating... NOT IDEAL. One of the 'improvements' that could definitely be made would be for this function to allow the nodules to retain their stationary position whilst completing full, uninterrupted revolutions, indefinitely! My ultimately favourite mode/function to use, has got to be the "Auto" setting, where it utilises ALL of the functions in an incredibly UNIQUE, distinctive pattern, by cycling through multiple different combinations of each, for the maximum run-time of 15-minutes. It is an exceptional setting that produces remarkable results! The 'Airbags' are especially one of my favourite features - you have the 'Seat Airbags' + the 'Back Airbags', that can be individually activated and also have 3-intensity modes to choose from (in manual mode/s). They offer a considerable amount of relief & support for my arthritic aches & pains, which, when combined with the 'Heat' Setting, can fully 'loosen-up' those stiff areas! Speaking of heat, it does takes a 10-15 minute cycle to fully heat-up, but is relatively beneficial to the massage process - particularly for speedy recoveries! It emits a radiant heat that penetrates your body efficiently. The controller is simple & easy to use, although it can be hard to recognise any of the indicators in the dark, especially as the LED lights are rather sharp/bright. The other feature that I would improve, would be the controllers' buttons, specifically the neck 'Up' + 'Down' buttons, because they're somewhat difficult to press and require a heavily-firm force to be applied in a small area just to be registered as an input + it takes a substantial amount of time for the nodes to move! - This can be challenging almost all of the time and needs complete focus and strength! The power lead connects to the right-hand side, where the female port is, on a short wire - the power lead itself is of reasonable length; I would've much preferred it to be a bit longer + the female connection port to be situated on the left-hand side instead. Overall, I do like this massage chair, it could definitely be improved in various ways AND lowered in price... but it does work relatively well (if you find the right angle + combinations). I do recommend it-it just takes a lot of time to get to know what works best for you and your body type for it to be sufficient enough to provide satisfactory results...

I did a lot of reading and reviews before I chose the Snailax Full Body Massage Chair Pad. This was bought for my 86-year-old father that has chronic lower back pain & hip pain. He was very happy with my choice. It is heavy for someone his age to move around. He liked using in his large recliner so he can relax. I believe it is about 16lbs and it says to unplug from the wall outlet so this part he has struggled with until I moved the pad to another small swivel chair & because the pad has a tall firm back it still worked fine w/o needing the chair back taller. I read all instructions before using and it is pretty clear on instructions and for setup. It was well packaged- doubled box which really protected to and didn't have all the Styrofoam or extra stuff to dispose of. There is an auto setting that will run 15 mins for sample, but my dad likes that because it does it all. It says to use only 3x's at 15 mins a day to start & I understand so your back can get used to the massage part. I think for us being tall it is perfect to have the full auto start from the lower back and goes up to the neck & head area. So far just having it for 5 days it is doing a good job. I have used the air massager setting and it just seems to air up and expand and decrease for pressure it feels good but not the pressure I thought. The rollers are really good and not so intense that it hurts. I used 1st time and wondered if I would feel the workout in the middle of my back the next day, but I didn't. I am glad we are tall, or we may have had to add a cushion to raise a smaller person like it states to raise someone with a small body frame raised up to have their head and neck in the right position. It is nice to be able to fold the seat up and set aside if not in use. It was easy enough to lean against something to store in area you want to use all the time. The controller stores in a pocket on the right side of the back- quick to set back up My dad loved how it helped his sore lower back, or if you just want to sit down for 15 minutes or less whenever you want and be relax to a wonderful massage. I feel you will not be disappointed. My review was based only on my fathers & my own personal experience. I may have to order myself one for our house since I got to try out my dad's. Overall very happy with what it performs.

I wanted one of those big chairs that cost a couple grand but of course my wife said they are ugly, cost way too much and we have no room for one. So I decided to break down and try this portable massage chair. I LOVE IT!!! I have used it in my office chair but mostly while sitting on the couch and watching tv. It feels so good I do several cycles of about 15 minutes each time. I had to put a thin seat cushion user the bottom to raise my neck up slightly since I guess I have a shorter torso but it’s no big deal. In fact the neck rollers can be adjusted up and down anyway so I can bring them onto my upper shoulders. I have a Snailex foot massager which is used at least once a day my either me or my wife and it is still going strong for more than over a year. These are quality built and I have not seen a chair massager like this in any stores. If you need a quick massage give it a try. I don’t think you will regret it.

I purchased the Snailax Full Body Massage Chair Pad -Shiatsu Neck Back Massager with Heat & Compression, Kneading Full Back Massage Seat Portable Chair Massager for Back and Neck, Shoulder because I'm hoping it lasts. I've purchased so many types of back massagers over the last 10 years and usually end up wanting. They are too small or don't hit the right spots. This massager has almost everything you could want and I'm extremely happy with it. I've been using it for a few days, and I use it at various times throughout the day. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis which is a degenerative spine disorder, and it has affected my muscles throughout my entire back. I'm in pain most days with muscle spasms and knots so I need breaks to try to work them out. This chair massager has been very effective in relaxing my muscles and giving me the deep pressure that I need. Many others I've tried do not allow the pressure this baby does. Especially when you use the air seat and air back, it hugs you right in place, so you don't move away from the rollers. Speaking of the rollers, this is one of the things that makes it "almost perfect". They are great, don't get me wrong, however, they could go side to side just a few inches. The structure of the chair keeps you in place, centered on the seat, and the rollers move up and down while rotating but they only reach that center strip on either side of your spine. If you're like me and have multiple muscle issues, you know what I mean. I'm 5'5" &150lbs so I sit pretty well in the seat though I've found that the rollers, when using the full back mode, stop just below my shoulder blades :( I need deep tissue massage around my shoulder blades and can only get that by sliding down and sitting off-center on each side to reach them. This is because with the "neck and shoulder" section, at its lowest spot, it only puts pressure on the top of my shoulders and the base of my neck. I can feel there is another set of shorter nodes next to the protruding neck nodes that rotate with them, unfortunately, they do not reach my shoulders regardless of the positions I've tried. You can see in the photos I've tried to show the lower nodes and in the one with just my finger on top of the shorter node, you can see there is about a 3" difference in height. Photos also show there are 3 pressure levels depending on fabric removal. Full coverage of the full over flap, remove that flap and get 2nd level of pressure, remove the neck fabric (zipped) and a 3rd level of pressure. I'm thrilled with this product overall! It appears to be well made, you get extra warranty coverage with Snailax and my back is very, very, happy!
