Amazing knife all around
This knife is almost to the point of being literally perfect in every way. I love how sharp the blade is straight from the factory and it came tuned better than a broke in benchmade. Please don’t confuse this with the fact that I dislike benchmade because I also own a benchmade a as well. The action is so smooth and operates with such ease. However the angle at the bottom of the g10 handle instead of a flat edge allows for accidental palm cuts if you aren’t diligent about your holding grip position. So for a fraction of a benchmade Osborne or just about an upgraded bugout you can get smoother action, better omega type springs by wuulf and a more fluid operating knife. IMO. I have not had enough pocket time with this knife yet and will report back with my findings soon. This is just my initial review of the Hogue deka (not wharncliffe). So you ask is it worth it so far and my straight answer is yes I would recommend this knife plain and simple. After I use it properly and get a better understanding of how it actually functions out in the real world I will edit this review and include my findings. I am almost certain with Hogue’s history and the quality they have always been known to produce I will change my rating to 5 stars. Hope this helps thus far.Back after weeks of carry and I officially have to say this is by far one of the most balanced superb cutting tools that feels super premium but is so light you wonder if you forgot it at home. I absolutely love this knife and hands down wouldn’t hesitate to order another different colored one. What a gem of a knife and and a joy to use for edc.I highly recommend this knife and if you don’t own one and you are a knife collector like myself you should get one. Hogue knocked it out of the park with this. Great knife 5 stars..Brent

Amazing knife, I would have expected to pay more!
I have come to LOVE the Hogue line of knives. I saw this knife and I remember seeing it online and at a few knife stores and thought I would check it out from Amazon. I saw that it has CPM 20CV, then I saw the price and IMMEDIATELY purchased it. I bought the exact same knife a few months back with the Wharncliffe blade, so when I saw this one available I snapped it up as well! The blade is nice and thin, so it slices through everything like it's butter. I was worried that with a super thin blade such as this that it would possible snap easily, or potentially be a problem with retaining an edge, but let me tell you.... this thing holds up PERFECTLY!I use this drop point model as my EDC most of the time, and it gets a lot of use through the week cutting open boxes, cutting zip ties, cutting twine / rope (small rope, think garden twine style) and broke down a few boxes... I have yet to sharpen this thing from it's factory edge, and it's still sharp enough to shave with!Speaking of the factory edge... it comes RAZOR sharp... when I say razor, I mean RAZOR sharp! You could cut off a finger easily if you are not careful.TL;DR: If you are on the fence, buy it.. I promise you will not be disappointed. I own two in two different blade styles, and I will most likely buy a 3rd (in a different color handle) because these are built to be used, and to look good doing it... but they are also built for comfort. Light, comfortable, just overall perfect in my opinion!

Excellent
Excellent action, build, fit & finish. The sharpest knife out of the box I've ever received. I collect knives and have many to compare.

Great Knife, but I returned it because I "liked" it. Didn't "love" it.
For anyone looking for an Axis (Benchmade) or Able (Hogue) style lock-up knife this is a great knife with a caveat. I will get to that at the end of my review. Compared to a Benchmade (which I've only handled and do not own) this knife feels of higher quality. (Sorry, Benchmade knives like the Bugout feel super cheap to me compared to the price you pay.) The G10 on the handle of this knife is both beautiful in color, milled with a nice texture, and is fairly grippy. Hogue appears to upgrade the knife since its introduction with a deep carry pocket clip, nice! The blade's grind was even on both sides, and super sharp! The thumb stub ergonomics on opening are good. Normally I shy away from thumb studs for worry of slicing my thumb because of poor placement too close to the spine or pivot. Not the case with this knife! The action was butter smooth on open and close. The knife dropped closed easily for me when disengaging the Able lock. The issue I have with this knife is that it felt a little odd / small in my hand. I think this is due to the way the handle tapers towards the butt. For this reason I returned it and am giving it 4-stars. Don't let that deter you from a purchase if you're in the market for this style of knife, it just wasn't for me.

Perfect EDC
Slim profile and light weight, I think it's a better all around deal than the more popular Benchmade Bugout. It's got better materials and feels solid at a lower price point. I also think there's better QC from Hogue over Benchmade. I have many ZTs, Spydercos, and Benchmade. Of the US made knives, I would put this particular knife under ZTs and Spydercos. If you care more for looks than ergonomics, I would put this just under ZTs. This is an awesome example of US craftsmanship and quality.
