Excellent Launch Title For PS5
Reviewed on PS5. This is the PlayStation 4 version, but you can get a free PS5 upgrade Not exactly a full sequel to Marvel's Spiderman (2018), but a lengthy expansion like how 'Uncharted Lost Legacy' was for Uncharted 3. MSRP is $20 less than full priced PS5 games, and is one of PS5 flagship titles. Main campaign will last around 12-15 hours; more if you want to unlock all trophies or play New Game + --Graphics/Performance: Drastically improved from Spiderman 2018 when playing on PS5. Able to turn on ray tracing with 4k resolution, but frame rate drops to 30fps from 60fps Load times are instantaneous on PS5. No more than 3 seconds City has similar layout, but with a snow, winter theme to it --Story: Peter and Mary Jane go abroad to do some journalism leaving Miles to protect the city. Miles balance helping his mom campaign for City Council, and protecting the city against Roxxon Energy Corporation and a high-tech organization called the Underground with it's leader the Tinkerer. --Gameplay: Similar to previous game, but Miles has some new ability customization Has new shock/venom powers, and cloak abilities Venom powers makes you moves feel more impactful than original and does larger AOE damage Venom powers uses meter which build up as you do combos, do damage to enemies Flow of combat is fluid and feel exhilarating. Best when played in 60fps on PS5 Cloaking ability brings in stealth element, but is very lenient if you get caught Miles has 4 gadgets he can use instead of 8 from Peter Instead of collecting backpacks, you're collecting time capsules Web Slinging through the city feel different as Miles has less fluid and more exaggerated movements than Peter Side missions are more varied, but there are fewer of them focusing more on quality than quantity. There's a Spiderman app on in-game phone where you can track what side missions you want to do. Peter will make training missions for Miles which is a substitute for Task Master in original game Haptic feedback on Duel Sense controller is used sparingly in variety compared to Astro's Playroom tech demo. Show's up while doing specials and during cut scenes for the most part. Adaptive triggers is present while web swinging through the city Overall, excellent game to hold you off until Marvel's Spiderman 2. A must get launch title for PS5

Short, but better than the previous Spider-Man in every way
As a huge fan of Miles Morales, I was honestly looking forward to this more than the previous Spider-Man game, however that shouldn’t let you think this review is propping the game up just due to my love of that character. I have been a fan of Peter Parker since I was a kid, but the last game despite being great dropped the ball in a lot of ways for me. I had issues with the story (which felt like a lame retread of Spider-Man 2), the awful Mary Jane stealth missions (who wanted these in a game called Spider-Man?), and starting the game with an experienced Spider-Man yet still having to unlock a lot of basic abilities. However, all those problems are thankfully gone in this new game. Starting with a still learning Miles made unlocking new powers feel more organic to the story and all of his additional powers unique to his character made the combat even more fun. Then there’s the story which felt more personal, more unique, and tighter than the previous game. The addition of the Spider-Man app was also a great new feature for finding side missions to tackle. I also love the music in the game, which clearly took some cues from Into the Spiderverse, which is currently my favorite Spider-Man film to date. Also setting this around Christmas was a nice touch that made it visually unique compared to the last game despite using the same map. So overall despite being a short game I’m giving this five stars. Similar to Uncharted Lost Legacy, I preferred this to the main game it’s spun off from. I feel like game devs could learn a thing or two when their side games feel better than the main ones. Length isn’t everything and too many games these days overstay their welcome or feel stuffed with needless filler.

Not the best Spider-Man game ever made....Yet.
It’s hard to one up the hit the original PS4 SPIDER-MAN was but this game comes awful close. I love this game and I went into it know little to nothing of Miles other then what I saw in the Into the Spider-Verse movie, which I loved. I found as I played I begin to love the character and I throughly enjoyed the fact that Miles not only had different powers then Peter Parker’s Spider-Man but he also handled and moved differently as well. Kudos to the developers for going the extra mile instead of just re-skinning their current character model. My only complaint has to be the game is short compared to the original. Plus the original had multiple DLCs that added to the game play experience. Now that doesn’t mean MMS (Miles Morales Spider-Man) won’t have extra content down the road in fact I’d be surprised if Sony didn’t drop more content soon, but as the time of writing this they haven’t yet or talked about it either. So on that alone it stands a little short compared to the original. Still a solid game and release. A must for any PS4/Ps5 owner and an absolute must for any comic book fan.

Like a DLC, very short cross-gen game.
Update 11/25/20 This game is very short. After clocking in 10 hours I’m already done with the game and got 100% completion. You do not unlock every gadget/skill/suit unless you replay the story in a new game +. The story is set in present time, which I thought was neat. Good variety of representation for minorities of all types, without being preachy. I wasn’t impressed with the story but the ending sequence had me getting chills. Bottom line this game is great, but there’s no replay value unless you trophy hunt. (There’s an after credits scene) ORIGINAL REVIEW I started this game on PS4 and then I was given a surprise ps5... So this game works on both consoles! You get an option to download the digital miles morales as soon as you insert it to your ps5. My story progress carried over as well. Props to insomniac and Sony for making that super easy. The game is great so far, very similar to the first Spider-Man, which is no issue for me.

What's Up Danger?
Spiderman Miles Morales is an amazing addition to the Spiderman video game universe. It's beautiful on PS4 Pro, and feels very new and improved from the original. There's a solid 10-15 hrs of story gameplay, but it's got plenty of web-swinging, crime-fighting replay value. The new abilities are a blast and the map is full of new activities and things to explore. The story really has heart and adds so much to Miles' character, along with Into the Spider-verse. The soundtrack bumps and its never been more fun to be Spiderman. I would say the amount and QUALITY of content is absolutely worth the price, even for the PS4 version, which just lacks ray-tracing, faster load times, and 60fps. Have fun!

Hours of fun.
Great part two to the original. Interactive play and cultural representation in the game of whom miles is and the community he lives in 10/10. Props for inclusion of ASL community.
