There are two ways to shut the bite valve off
Reading some of the negative reviews, they seem to be surrounding the usefulness of the bite valve. After a bit of fiddling about I realised there are two mechanisms to shut the straw off.There is the obvious clear rubber/orange section that pushes in and out the black connection, then the black section between;the clear rubber and the straw lifts about 2mm that opens the whole system.So set your clear mouthpiece to ‘open’ when you’re running and you just have to lift the black section to drink.I have to admit that it wasn’t immediately obvious and took me a minute to ‘get it’.

Useless
The straw does not reach the bottom of the bottle.Difficult to suck the fluid up.Dissatisfied & disappointed.

bite valve tastes of plastic
The bite valve tastes of plastic - I'm soaking it in bicarb of soda to see if it is better. The straw is too short - I misread the straw length as 750mm, in fact the volume is 750ml, the straw doesn't quite reach the bottom of the bottle as it is, so pulling it out to make it protude further doesn't work - I wanted to be able to leave the bottle in a harness and just put the straw in my mouth.There is an open and closed position for the valve which isn't obvious - the black bit at the bend in the valve needs to be pulled out about 6mm to open the flow and be able to suck the water up, also, you have to continue biting the valve after sucking to allow air back into the bottle before sucking again.

Doesn’t work
No air hole to replenish the air in the bottle as you sip the water. Water stops coming up the tube after a few sips.

Brought this for Hikes and overnight camping. Unfortunately leaks so not ideal.

Bottle but no straw
Hi there I received delivery of two bottles . Unfortunately one does not have a straw with it. As seen in the picture . Woukd it be possible to post straw to my address. Thank you

Great product that fits in my running vest and doesn’t leak.

Smells and tastes of plastic
Have washed and washed this bottle many times but it still smells and tastes of plastic. The transfer has worn off after the first wash.Only 1 star as I think this is going straight in the recycling bin.
