Robust Enough For Daily Use
We re-purchased this item as a replacement for the original one which lasted us 4 years of multiple daily use. The spring is strong enough to keep the retractable strap taught when stretched across the gap and retract fully when not in use. We really like that it is wall mounted across the entrance. The only reason for the loss of one star is that the strap in this version has a habit of twisting as it retracts so that we have to take care to untwist it to ensure that the slider is the right way up for the bracket.
