color was darker than expected, but still a lovely shawl. I am 5'6" and it's longer than expected. and shaped a bit like a cape, with a back and front with points that dangle. the wool is light, not scratchy and yet warm when you need it to be. perfect for sitting out on a deck in late summer and fall. Great for walks - just be aware this shawl is long - and you can wrap it around in various ways, but it is not a square or a rectangular shape - it is pieced to be worn as a longer shoulder wrap. Good value for the $; price here is almost $50 less than on other sites and shipping is free with Prime.

This ruana is lovely. The wool is a boucle, so there is some texture and loft to it even though it is very lightweight. It is drapey, long, and warm (like a favorite sweater, not a down coat!). The color is a beautiful red, not too dark, with a mix of subtle olive, pink, and dark red in it. I am 5'4" and the longest draped corners reach my lower calves. It looks both casual and elegant all at the same time! I may add a pin or button at the chest area, just so that I do not have to reclose the front while wearing it, but it is fine as is. I can toss one of the front sections over the opposite shoulder if I want a different look. This is a versatile piece that can be worn with a variety of tops to go from sporty to dressy. It will be a favorite item this season, and I hope that it lasts for many years.

I love it. Just like my grandma's. My grandma was born in Colombia. She taught me how to wear ruanas at a young age. Long story short this is the real deal. The fabric is light but warm as hell. I don't plan on wearing out in NYC cold weather but it helps keep the chill off at home (the heating in my building sucks). Money well spent. My only advice is that if you're under 5'2 this might be a tad bit too long for you.

I must have put this in my cart half a dozen times before I actually ordered this. I am so glad I did! It is luxurious and fabulous! I'm not sure why some other reviews say it's thin- the whole reason I look for good wool is that it's thin, light, and still warm. I'll be using this for decades. Now I want more colors!

Absolutely gorgeous! These are very well priced as I bought my first one in a boutique in California a decade ago for twice the price (which I still have and still looks great, so these do stand the test of time). Surprisingly warm for a relatively thin material, but perfect for layering. I own 3 and occasionally on very chilly days will wear all of them at once, because I like the color contrast. I cannot brag these up enough! They are simply fabulous and the colors are even prettier in person. I will eventually have them in every color.

I saw this exact ruana in a gift shop at Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland when I visited in Oct. 2017. I did not purchase it, but it stayed on my mind all this time. I found it here and had it saved to my wishlist all this time. I saw it every time I made other Amazon purchases, but the time was never right. When I looked the other day the price was about $40 less than it originally was. I could not pass it up! It is so light and soft. The color is “red check,” but has slight shades of pink and purple. It is perfect for freezing summer air conditioning in movie theaters and for milder fall and winter days or over a winter coat in cold climates. It’s just beautiful. Happy!

I bought this in the gold color, and it was true to the color shown. It’s lightweight but really keeps you warm. I wore it over a long sleeve knit top and it was enough to keep me comfortable outdoors on a breezy, partly cloudy day in the high 50’s. I liked it so much that I’m seriously considering buying another color to match other items in my wardrobe. The quality is very nice - I ordered a less expensive acrylic ruana at the same time for much less, there was no question which I’d keep once I had the side by side.

I purchased the Marine Blue check ruana/cape and I must say that it is just beautiful. It is 85% lambs wool and I expect it to be warmer than some other polyester products in the market. The colors are vivid and the weave is beautiful. I have not had a chance to wear this yet because it has been too warm here! I do hope to use it very soon, and I imagine I will receive compliments, so perhaps more business will come your way. I am also contemplating purchasing this in another color...
