I just couldn’t put it down 🫶🏽We’ve got Antonia Scott, all genius no badge - a non-cop with a knack for diving into dark corners of the criminal brain. She’s got the genius IQ level of Edith Stern and Marilyn Vos Savant (they were an inspiration when Gómez-Jurado was creating the character), paired with her own layered backstory, making her a truly memorable character. We are also introduced to Inspector Jon Gutiérrez. He’s facing the scales of justice and those of his own weight (ha, ha - he describes himself as a big, bulky gay man). Despite their differences, Antonia and Jon strike an interesting partnership. And I found their journey quite compelling, I loved seeing how they develop their friendship and acceptance amidst such complex histories and human vulnerabilities.The novel begins with a macabre murder scene. A boy from a rich family discovered bloodless, followed by a high-ranking executive’s kidnapping. Disturbing crimes that seem connected, and behind it all? A shadowy puppeteer with a master plan. Is Antonia really the ace the police need to crack this terrifying mystery wide open?Red Queen is like a rollercoaster ride through a hall of mirrors - with all the twists and turns you would expect from a good mystery thriller. It has been compared to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and I can see why. This is just a good, though quite different From an explosive action sequence painting a raw, detailed picture to a nerve-wracking encounter in Madrid’s qanat, the balance among character, plot, and setting … I found it really amazing.🎢A story is set the heart of Madrid, and it is the perfect kickoff for the upcoming trilogy by Gómez-Jurado. I really can’t wait to join Antonia and Jon on their thrilling adventures! I’ve also read that there is a Prime series in the making!Nick Caistor’s translation captures the essence, humor, and complexities of these diverse characters beautifully.

Este autor es un descubrimiento maravilloso, ya me he leido la trilogia y voy a por más, es adictivo.

SE PUEDE LEER. NO REVELO NADA DEL LIBROMe parece una novela muy bien hilada. Con un buen desarrollo de personajes. Para mi el autor gestiona el ritmo muy bien. La novela puesta atención a los detalles sin marear al lector. Es divertida, es intrigante, es intensa y de buena que es de hace corta.

He leído este libro y desde la primera pagina me atrapo, me ha tenido en gran suspenso hasta terminarlo, simplemente fabuloso!
