I use this strong bungee material (and also the 1/4 inch elastic cord) for a lot of stuff, make my own custom length bungee cords (with hooks on the ends). It is the real thing, stretches far, I have never had it fail so far. I use the 1/8 inch cord for elastic shoe laces on my work boots & it lasted many times longer than the "elastic shoe laces" that I got at walmart.
