Great rack for crafts!
I needed shelf storage for my crafts table but most of the desktop shelves I see on Amazon are more decorative than functional, too small or too flimsy. I keep my card-making supplies in plastic boxes which can get heavy with the metal paper punches I use. I got the idea to look at shoe racks and this one by IRIS USA seemed to fit the bill - it was the right size to fit my cases, sturdy to handle the weight, and looked nice enough to put on my table. The wood top is a nice touch and matches my table. This has to be assembled, but it was very simple and took me 10 minutes. I used my own Allen wrench and Phillips screwdriver. The secret to doing this easily is to attach the wood to the top frame first as directed, then lay that face down. Lightly bolt together the two side rails to the benchtop so there’s movement. Then lightly bolt the two shelves to the side rails. Once all are connected, then tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern so as to evenly distribute the tension, like you would tighten the lug nuts on a car wheel. I make several passes at each bolt so that the whole unit is gradually tightened together. You also have to tighten gently so as not to strip the threads if you go too far. I am really pleased with how sturdy this rack is and it sits evenly on the table, no wobble. Coincidentally, the plastic cases I use are also made by IRIS USA, so I was glad to see the quality continued in this rack. I thought I’d post this because most reviews here are for using as a shoe rack, but the description does say it can be used other ways, and I wanted to show my example. Love it, and now my desk is organized and I don’t have to keep moving my cases in a pile to find the one I need. The big black case on top is heavy and bulky and it’s so nice to have it up and off my desk until it’s needed. Recommend this rack!

Not that great
It works I guess, problems:Very difficult to put together, directions are evasive, nothing is labeled, I get that it’s a simple shoe rack but seriously, needs better directions and labels on the parts! Not that sturdy, especially in the middle, not sure if it’s going to hold up.PlusesStretches pretty farFits a lot of shoesLooks niceAll in all, if I really could I’d probably return it but for the price I’m keeping it, and praying it holds up. On a very tight budget so can’t really afford to get a more expensive one and who knows just because something costs more doesn’t mean it’s any better! My advice, find one in an actual store, that you can see if it’s sturdy enough.

Versatility
I have purchased four of these in different sizes. They are sturdy and well made with a solid top. All pieces are finished properly and attach easily. These are handy for shoes as well as any lightweight items you want to store in a small space.

Turns you into a shoe organizer master!!
The Short:A good, extendable, sturdy, 3 level shoe rack. I came back and bought another! The Long:I needed a better way to organize my shoes. The pile of shoes in my closet was not doing it for me. I wasn't sure how large I needed and this gave me the ability to make it as large/small as I needed. I have it about half way as wide as it can go and it is very stable.Making it go as wide as it can makes it less stable. It starts to sage in the middle.I have hiking boots on the top rack and it supports them just fine. The middle and bottom rack are not tall enough for hiking boots. High tops probably won't fit in the middle and bottom rack either. My wife got jelous because of my masterful shoe organization, I got her one as well. She is happy with it equally.

Faulty Shoe Rack
This is the worst shoe rack ever. It has no screws to put it together and falls apart easily. Even when you can get it to support shoes, it does not give you extra room for your shoes. They might as well be on the floor. It is difficult to get shoes off the rack and the shoes don't completely fit on the rack.

Great buy
A little flimsy but as long as it stays in one place which that is what shoe racks are for anyway should be good. Have used it for more than two years and ut still doea the job. Its worth the price.
