...you'll probably like this one. The people are awfully excitable though. It's an old trope (locked building, infestation, zombies), but this was fun to watch (unless you maybe have a faulty pacemaker).

very much like, didnt mind the “shakey cam”, didnt love the interviews, was just kinda set up in regular video cam horror zombie fashion, but oh boi it gets interesting quick. very good also towards the end that girl should have shut up and pablo should have livedddddd. overall very good movie development was nice and instead of regular zombie virus it was more of a possessive tak which seemed a lil cheesy but appropriate since it was based in portugal with catholicism i suppose.

I'm ignoring the dubbing issue for now because although it is a valid issue it's not enough reason to skip this film. In fact, rather than bring down the entire rating for what is quickly becoming a classic film, I wish those who gave it one star had given it at least three so as to be more fair to every other aspect of the production. I will say that this is pretty bad dubbing as dubbing goes and a subtitled version should be at least offered in addition. In truth, most of the talking occurs at the beginning of the film, which quickly develops into a major horror-suspense-action type film that is not dependent on dialog.This is also a "point of view" or "shaky-cam" film and many of those have a rightfully bad reputation. I recently saw one that became totally unintelligible minutes long shots of the ground by a bouncing camera. You can take this type of realism too far. But these people know what they're doing. I don't know what the technique is, but the camera is steady enough when it needs to be and shaky and disjointed enough to preserve the sense of realism that it is supposed to.The set up is delightfully simple. In Barcelona there is a local show called "While You Sleep" where a female announcer and a cameraman visit various venues where people work the night shift. This night it is to a local fire station and it's a pretty slow night. So slow is it, that they have to fill time shooting hoops in the station's basketball court. Then they get a call, just the thing the TV crew is hoping for, though later on they will wish it had never come in.In the zombie universe this is an "Infected" film with fast-moving zombies, the kind where just one or two can be totally lethal. The cast is totally believable and doesn't overact, the downfall of many low budget films. The action moves quickly - the whole film is only 78 minutes - and is totally believable and gripping. The director and writers managed to cut away all the frills and make one of the most intense films of the whole genre. One of their best decisions was to stick to one single building, which avoided the overreach of many films that try to show a large scale outbreak with a small scale budget, and which also keeps the atmosphere claustrophobically tense and dangerous.This film came from nowhere and is now often included in Top Ten lists in the zombie genre. It deserves it. The production company did an unusual thing with the sequel and subsequent sequels and changed the basic premise. I won't say any more because I don't want to spoil anything, but I thought it worth mentioning.

After a slow setup of the reporter and camera man this thing got frantic and fearsome fast. Some over acting but it is low budget delivering several scares and gore up until the very end where survivors discover more to the story. Thinking it sets up a sequel as I see a Rec 2, which I have to watch now to see if they get a better budget and how will they follow up the found footage genre of the first?

The problem with the way reviews are collected on Amazon is that the DVD reviews are lumped in with Amazon Prime streaming.All of the negative reviews are reviews of dubbed DVD's.I am a person who watches several horror films a week so that I can review on my Instagram (littlebadwolf cathy jenkins) and I'm a bit jaded but this film, Rec ESP scared the living daylights out of me. I actually flinched and yelped out loud scaring my cat (also a horror film buff). I COVERED my eyes twice!The directing is fabulous--exposing the actors to unscripted shocks that they react to naturally. The pacing is tight, the plot lean and clear and the ending. Well. You'll never see THAT coming. I cared about the characters more than I did the characters of the excellent remake of Dawn of the Dead, a film that gave the actors each a ton more screen time.In Rec ESP all the characters were so well developed in such a short amount of time and of course because of the way the film is shot, so Verite', you feel as if you're standing right there in the midst of it terrified for your life. I wanted to kill the person standing next to me screaming and I was horrified at the sight of the old, disheveled woman in her night gown. I actually felt ashamed of looking at her grotesque body-- as if I should give her some dignity. That is until she came lurching down the hall, mouth bloody, straight for me.Cannibal Holocaust? A exploitation flick through and through. Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer? Tawdry and simple minded. Last House on the Left? A "this is your brain on drugs" public service announcement.IF YOU ARE A TRUE HORROR FAN YOU WILL LOVE THIS MOVIE! It's subtitled but who cares.

Va bene che il disco sia un ex noleggio ..ma ciò che mi chiedo è.. ma come diamine trattavano ai tempi le custodie dei dischi¿? ..cioè l’ultima cosa che farei è doverci appiccare i numeri di serie nella cavolo di copertina ..non quella di plastica ma quella di carta.. come rovinare una fantastica copertina…peccato , anche se capisco che sia un dvd usato ..comunque il contenuto è in perfette condizioni. Il disco non ha un solo graffio!

正直、侮っていた。今まで主観撮影(ポイント・オブ・ヴュー POV)といえば「ブレアウィッチ・プロジェクト」「クローバー・フィールド」など雰囲気と素人くさい撮影手法だけで何となく怖いものを観たような気分にさせるような映画や、「ダイアリー・オブ・ザ・デッド」のように主観撮影を取り得れてみたものの瓦解してしまっているような映画しか知らなかったが、この作品は出来が違う。上記主観撮影モノを観て、どうせあんなものでしょと高をくくって未鑑賞の方は是非鑑賞すべし。「最近のホラーは退屈だ。笑うか、眠るかだな…」と思っていらっしゃる方でも、７割程度の方はレックの緊迫感に引き込まれるのではないだろうか？ストーリー自体は単純な構造。消防士のドキュメントを撮影していたテレビクルーが出動先で事件に巻き込まれ、云々…というゾンビ系の感染パニックホラーである。しかし、視点がそのテレビクルーのカメラマンであるパブロの視点であり、レポーターのアンヘラの迫真の演技と登場人物のパニック時における個々の個性的な振る舞いが物語を実にリアルに形作っている。また、物語の展開が速いのも魅力である。最初はやや冗長な印象すら受け、とても高評価を受けたホラーとは思えない程なのだが、事件が起こり始めた後は指数関数的に緊張感が増し、最後にはしっかり事件の謎に迫る展開すら用意されている。もちろん映画自体の尺も短めなのだが、この緊張感でこれ以上に長いと疲れてしまうだろう。この映画には丁度良い。上記主観撮影映画と比較して優れている点がいくつかある。一つは撮影が上手いということ。素人ではなくテレビクルーの撮影した物という設定なので、敢えて下手に撮影する必要がないのだ。また同様に撮影用のカメラがテレビカメラという設定のため、今までのPOV映画と比べて映像が綺麗でも許される。もちろん移動しつつの撮影も多いので、全く疲れないかといわれると肯定はできないが、今までのPOVと比べると観やすいだろう。（ロメロ爺様のダイアリー〜も似たようなアイデアだったが、残念ながら中途半端だった…）二つ目は起承転結がしっかり意識されて作られている点だろう。POVというと自然に見せるために、敢えて中途半端で映像の継ぎはぎで構成され、結末は鑑賞者が予測しなければならないようなつくりの物ばかりだったが、レックにはしっかりと結末らしい構成まで用意されている。映画として成り立っているのだ。これらにより、今までのPOV物には無かった、視聴後の充足感が得られる。上手く工夫したものだ。アンヘラ役のマニュエラ・ヴェラスコはそのルックスからは想像できない迫真の演技で映画をぐいぐい引っ張る。シッチェス・カタロニア映画祭（ホラーを含むファンタジー系映画の最高峰）の最優秀女優賞を獲得したのも頷ける。年齢が高めではあるが、この演技力とルックスを持ってすれば、今後の活躍もあるのではなかろうか。その他の俳優陣も自然なPOV向けの演技ができており的確に周囲を固めている。スペインは情緒豊かな演技が出来る役者さんが多い印象があるが、改めてスペインの俳優たちの演技力の高さを知らしめられた。映像コーデックはMPEG4 AVC。映画のコンセプト上、あまり鮮明な映像は現実的ではないのだろう。だが、上記の設定の妙もあり、POVにしては映像が綺麗だ。これだけでも十分にBlu-rayを選択する価値がある。5段階で3.5-4.0くらい。音声コーデックはDolby True HD 5.1ch（スペイン語）。もちろんBGMや効果音などあるわけも無いが、微細な音が効果的に録音されていたり、十分な臨場感をもってセリフの抑揚が味わえ、実にリアル。5段階で4.0。これら映像や音声のリアルさは必須なので、絶対にBDで鑑賞するべきだと思うのだが、残念ながらこのBDはハピネットというバンダイ系の商魂たくましいメーカーによって販売されているため、DVDには収録されている特典映像のほとんどが入っていない（収録は宣伝映像程度であり、メイキングどころか未公開映像すら無い）。特典映像に拘る方はDVDを選択するか、抗議の不買を貫くべきだろう。

Il film ormai è diventato un cult,quindi non spenderò parole per esso; per quanto riguarda invece la qualità tecnica del Bluray bisogna dire che è stato fatto un buon lavoro(se si pensa a come il film è stato girato e al non altissimo budget)Video=8/10Audio=7.5/10Film=9/10Servizio Amazon come sempre velocissimo e precisissimo!

後半のアパート内を上がったり降りたりするくだりはリメイク版は停電している設定なのですが、オリジナル版は照明の点いているエリアと消えているエリアが交互に登場するので過剰な緊張感を強いられないため見ていて精神的疲労が少ないです。また、最上階でも新聞記事のスクラップやテープレコーダーの内容が提示されたりラストに登場する人（？）も画面に映し出されている時間が多少長いため事の発端を垣間見せてくれたりして見終わってもモヤモヤ感が少ないです。ストーリーはオリジナル版もリメイク版も差異はないんだけどトータルでオリジナル版の方が好きです。

Il primo è sempre quello che affascina di più. Storia assolutamente originale che si pone tra i film di zombi, e quelli di sopravvissuti. Riprende l'idea del film Cassandra crossing, ma modificato e posto in un palazzo invece di un treno. Da non perdere.
