A great way to access anamorphic filming
I bought the 35mm M43 version of the lens for my GH6. Sirui are making a lot of really good lenses at the moment for crop and full frame cameras. The classic anamorphic film style has always attracted me but the price of lenses has always been crazy, like new car crazy. Up steps Sirui with its range of lenses that are affordable for us normal folk. They have a range of focus lengths available and I would like to have them all but as I could only buy one then 35mm was a great starter to the range. The squeeze factor is 1.33x so not huge but certainly noticeable and when desqueezed in your video editor it looks simply gorgeous. I would love to try the 1.6x Saturn for my old A7Sii but for now this 35mm is a superb entry to anamorphic, film making. Get your MF skills going and go make some movies. I am sure you will love it. Adapters available also for other camera types and I’m tempted by the Sony E plate to try with some crop on my Sony. The GH6 though is just beautiful with this lens attached. Recommended 5stars

Sadly returning beauty
The 35mm SIRUI 1.33 Anamorphic lens arrived in a timely manner and feels solid, robust, smooth and reliable. The aperture is stepless. I paired SIRUI with the Panasonic Lumix GH5 (which offers an anamorphic desqueezed POV) and the Atomos Ninja (ProRes 422) but did not get to test as I would have liked. The recent Atomos firmware (framing) update will prove helpful for those who get to put this particular union through its paces. I like prime manual focus lenses but the image felt a little softer than I'd have liked on the day I was able to trial. I think I needed time to get used to this anamorphic lens but I ran out of time and didn't feel able to chance my adaptation to this new lens as quickly as I needed to and the desqueezing calculation felt like something else to remember. Sirui is a good brand and this lens is innovative. I'd like to spend more time with this anamorphic or maybe try a x2 rather than x1.33. I found the YouTube channel 'Anamorphic on a Budget' so helpful I subscribed. SIRUI customer service is excellent. Sadly I am reluctantly returning this 35mm SIRUI anamorphic lens but it is a beauty, maybe one day I'll get to spend more time with her!?

Fantastic lens and will be a huge game changer for my projects!
Anamorphic lenses have always been a dream of mine to shoot with and when Sirui released their 50mm I had to get it and was impressed with that lens all round. Now we have the 35mm and its just fantastic as I can shoot wider shots with amazing characteristics. Being 1.33x should not put people off as you get the blue flares and the bokeh is really nice (there are mods if you want to get that perfect oval look) The big surprise with this lens is how sharp it is at F1.8 just like the 50mm. I have MFT cameras so this really helps to add a dimension to shots and I have ordered the 24mm to add to the collection. If Sirui make a wider lens then 24 then that will be perfect to get truly scopic shots all the way. I will say that you need a camerea/monitor that can de-squeeze the image as well as the right software if you're just a beginner but many editing programmes de-squeeze easily. If you're a photographer this lens will add a unique look to your photos just like the great Dick Sweeney has done, and if you want to create videos with a cinema look and can get only one anamorphic lens stick with the 35mm. Top notch lens all the way and Sirui have set the bar high and I am sure more anamorphic lenses will hit the market.

Superb lens - fantastic quality
This has to be one of the most beautiful lens I've ever used. Whilst it can't be used for everything as your project may not lend itself to anamorphic, it does produce some absolutely beautiful video footage. Very little if any colour correction needed in post. Would highly recommend, only issue is I now have to find another £1.5k to get the 24, 50 and 70mm versions.

Requires manual attention, but footage is beautiful and worth the effort
After years of seeing others online with this or the original 50mm or newer 24mm, I decided to take the plunge investing in this over a new Lumix GH5,GH5ii or GH6 and sticking with my GH4. Shooting mainly video I was already used to full manual filming and have used many fast lenses and Meta Speed boosters to compensate for the MFT low light performance. With this Sirui, I was so impressed with the images produced, to say even that after years of searching it had been the anamorphic look I was striving for. The build is superb and control rings smooth. Great to have seemless aperture ring mid shooting though I did put a UV protector on front, and used some cheaper macro filters for close ups. NDs are especially vitsl in bright sunny days to maintain that glorious shallow depth of field look. I honestly can't describe how gorgeous the footage looks compared to my spherical lenses, including against the Sigma Art series, Canon gold band, and of course Lumix Leica lenses. With a GH4 a tripod is a must, this thing handheld for an entire day is very noticeable, and I had to experiment with its anamorphic mode which actually gives a tighter crop and produces 16x9 footage only avaliable in 4k30 100Mps, or normal mode which can use all codecs and provide a wider angle. 35mm is more zoomed in than I would have thought, but at least it mounts directly to the body without seal overhang like the metabones so my cheap rig doesn't get in the way. I recently filmed a wedding with this and it does bring more challenges for in the fly moments, needing the punch in to check focus when not recording etc. Otherwise the shots I did get are stunning. Highly recommended for those willing to invest time practicing using it.
