Amazing!
My wife was looking for a stand for her large tablet that would position it near vertical. We did a little research and most of them were big and bulky. We decided on the Plinth. When it arrived we both looked at and said "how in the world is this little thing going to work? When we determined how to open it "bam"; there it was.It is so small and yet perfect. It is hard to believe that a device that could fit in your pocket could hold a 12.2 in tablet with no problems. It is probably one of the most ingenious designs that I have ever seen. It is clever, small and very effective and works for all size tablets (probably cookbooks also).

One Star
Difficult to use and outrageously priced.

Too fragile and fundamentally flawed
I'm rather suspicious of the near-perfect rating for this product. The one I tried out may have been a lemon, but there are some fundamental problems with this product that cannot be attributed to just being a lemon.First of all, the Plinth is made with some of the flimsiest plastics I've ever seen. Most of the movable parts feel like it could fall out, fall off or simply break during everyday usage. In fact, the main latch that opens everything up is held onto a 1-2mm thin (approx toothpick thickness) strip of plastic which is always in danger of breaking. Even the company's CEO admitted as much via email. This is a latch you're gonna use every time you need a stand.Second, in that latch is a tiny spring that's not very well fastened. Unless you open it right side up, the spring may just pop out. This happened several times for me.Third, there is a picture of the Plinth holding up a large, hard-covered cookbook. That's simply not true. There's no way it can hold up a book that large and thick. The front holder will hold my iPad Pro fine, but anything thicker will be difficult if not impossible. As for stability, even the iPad in vertical pose will tip easily tip over unless you're careful. In horizontal pose, I worry that I may break it or crush it if I press too hard.Though it has rubber feet, they're ineffective. When using the screen on your tablet in vertical stance, it will move around a lot. I wonder why they even bothered. In addition to all this, mine would refuse to open up when I pressed the main latch. I'd have to shake it or sometimes pry it apart manually. It seems at almost every point in usage something may break. When I emailed the support, I was told that I wasn't doing it right and was referred to a Youtube video. There's really only one way to open a latch, and it just wouldn't release. When I told support, they said I may have to give it time to loosen up. At this point, it became ridiculous. The latch problem may have been, again, due to mine being a lemon. But since there seemed to be fundamental, design problems with it, I didn't bother to get a replacement, and just returned it for refund. Perhaps the next iteration will be better, but right now there are too many problems with it.

Great Product!
Awesome, awesome, awsome!! I actually purchased mine through the Kickstarter project, and I've gotta say this thing is amazing. I use my tablet quite extensively at work and I am NOT a big fan of the limited positions you can put a tablet in with many cases. This thing is brilliant, not only for my tablet or smartphone, but as a member if the Mormon Church this serves as a great stand for my scriptures during personal study or one of the many meetings we have as leaders. I definitely recommend this product and I'm glad to see that Amazon in the US is now carrying it. If anybody has any questions feel free to message me.

A really great product
What a great product. I saw this on the TV show 'Dragons Den' (the UK original that spawned Sharks Tank) and couldn't understand why they didn't want to back it. After the show I did a search and found it on Amazon so I ordered it immediately. Shipping was super fast - it arrived a full month before the projected delivery date and it had to come from the UK. It is excellent and I have tried multiple iPad stands. It is small and takes up no room in a pocket or in my iPad folio and allows for multiple angles for viewing. Really nice product, well done.

BEST tablet/phone stand for EDC/gear bag!
Just received the Plinth today, and after playing with it for a few minutes, I found the best way (for me) to open it: using 2 hands in order to control the spring action of the base legs. This stand is so light and compact, that it has now taken the place of my Anker stand, which is so much heavier, in my gear bag. BTW, the box the Plinth comes in makes a great case for added protection! My hat's off to Mr. John Bull, the inventor of the Plinth! I applied $6 left over from a gift card, so the price was definitely right, but I wouldn't hesitate to purchase a Plinth at the full price.

Flexible and Fantastic
I use the Plinth every day as my go-to mobile device stand. Its flexibility and utility are among the best of any stand I've used -- and I've used many. I use its lowest angle when I'm taking notes with my iPad Pro, and use the higher angles for watching videos or using the tablet as a second display. Its portability makes it easy to throw into any bag or pocket. It's not perfect. No tablet stand can be one-size-fits-all. However, the build quality is above average and its utility is so far unmatched. I only wish I could use it for typing on my lap.
