A History of Women's Boxing

This book is just what the ringside physician ordered for women’s boxing. It is an A to Z comprehensive review of the history of women’s boxing. The exposure women’s boxing gained from the book's release, in concert with the birth of the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame and the first-ever WBC convention on women’s boxing, was the icing on the cake marking 2014 as a milestone in the sport.

Malissa Smith has written a super history of the ladies who box. The books is really interesting, extremely well written, and at the same time quite scholarly. I highly recommend this profile of the pioneers and the practitioners of the sport. A really great read, hard to put down, and a pleasure to recommend to you..

Great prose but needs more photos

A wonderful book about the colorful and up til now, seemingly hidden history of women's boxing. Malissa Smith's book is cram full of background stories and boxing statistics to help boxing fans catch up. Excellent notes and index at the back of the the book; interesting photos in the book's center. I promise you this: Ms Smith knows her stuff!

A book that tells all there is to know about women's boxing, by an author who took the time to learn every aspect. Malissa Smith not only KNOWS the sport, she boxes as well. This is an amazing contribution that educates and informs readers, hardcore boxing fans, and sports historians, and provides a special narrative for the fighters to treasure. Looking forward to PART 2!

Few books have been written on the subject of Women's Boxing - most that cover the Noble Art dismiss the women's sport in a few paragraphs. This is by far and away THE best I have read. Can thoroughly recommend it to ALL lovers of the Noble Art.A 'must have' on your bookshelf or on e-readers like Kindle.
