Very well made!
My husband hand made our barn door since the opening from trim edge to trim edge was 38.5" This 6.6ft kit was the perfect size. We could have installed it without a header board but it looks so much nicer with one we decided to add that. The measurements that come with this kit are very precise to the 1/16" to be exact. There is room for adjustment on door height above the floor with the hangars that attach to the door. It is a very smooth rolling door!! We did not use the plastic guide on the bottom as we would have had to make a STRAIGHT notch along the bottom edge of the door and most people do not have access to these types of tools. Also did not want to drill into our tile so we purchased a guide kit that had a wheel and attached to the wall. We cut into the door trim to inset the guide also allowing the door to sit closer to the wall. As most homes are like ours probably we found the opening to not be as plumb as the door we made so it closes closer to the wall on one side than the other. My husband used a forstner bit to drill into the header board to inset the mounting points for the track. This allowed the door to rest much closer to the frame allowing for less than a half inch gap along the edges of the door. Three of the holes on the track will be in your door header. The remaining two will be in drywall so you will need a minimum of two extra lag screws to attach the header board and or some way to anchor the track in the drywall if you don't. We are very pleased with this purchase and love our new interior barn door!!

Better Than Expected
Sadley, i rarely find the time to write a review but i had to share that this "barn door" hardware is awesome! I bought for closet door at my cabin. I was hesitant on the disclosed plastic wheels but you really can't tell and they roll very smooth. I read reviews about mounting a back board for the track, so planned for this in advance, but i would agree that without it, it would be difficult to line up with studs yet have enough room for door to utilize most of track. I made my door from scratch so i actually mounted the track first then cut my door boards to size after cautiously measuring the hardware length several times for the right overhang. Perhaps i should have assembled the door then mount the hardware before then cutting door to the right size, but regardless, i did get it right and size was perfect. Overall, not very difficult but just took extra time for my first install to ensure all was done right. One thing to be sure of is making sure your track is spot-on level. The wheels roll very well with barely any friction so even the slightest tilt will cause door to move out of desired resting position. Mine was level or at least the level bubble within the bars but still just enough off to cause a very slight tilt. My solution is going to somehow add some friction to wheel or friction to top of track. No biggie though.Package came very nice and secure with no damage. Came with extra long bolts for doors that may be thicker too. The smaller bolts for mine worked perfect. I didn't add floor guide yet and not sure if I really need or want it.

Just a couple of improvements would make this a five star product.
First - the good. The roller system is excellent. The door glides smoothly and silently. The hardware is sturdy ... although I wish it were powder coated rather than painted. The large wheels are attractive and make for an "impressive" finished look. Now - here is how it would improve the product. Firstly ... make the product more "outdoor friendly". The bolts that attach the roller mechanism to the door are hex head ... and therefore easily detached so that thieves would have no problem detaching the rollers from the door. The same goes for the bolts that attach the rail to the structure. I bought carriage bolts to replace the hex head bolts to replace the hex head bolts attaching the rollers to the door. Some sort of cover needs to be created so that the rail bolts could be protected from thievery. There is no supplied method to insure the bottom of the door is secure when the door is in the closed position. A thief could simply pull out on the bottom of the door and enter. I attached two padlocks to the bottom of my door thereby making it secure when closed. It's not the most ideal location for a lock ... but it works. The directions instruct to drill a hole 2 inches down from the top of the door so that the roller mechanism can be attached. I had a lot of difficulty getting a 1/2" drill bit to track exactly where it should. If not precise, it creates lots of difficulty when attempting to hang the door. It would be extremely helpful if the slots that are in the roller hangars were elongated so that a little wiggle room was available. And lastly ... please improve the install directions. The print is meant to be read by an installer with 20/20 vision that doesn't need bifocals. And the directions seem to be written by the persons that designed the product and therefore knows what you're "supposed" to do. How about getting someone who has never installed the product and get them to help you write the directions AFTER they've attempted to install the product.I'm really trying to be helpful. I genuinely want you to improve the product.

LOVE THESE TRACKS
I originally bought a smaller track for a smaller door and LOVED the quality. So we did a larger door it’s a 12 ft by 8 ft door and it’s made out of pure wood. The track came a little dinged in the corners from shipping but we were able to hide it and no one can notice it anyways. But the entire track is made out of thick metal and overall it’s smooth when it rolls and it just does a GREAT job!!!!

Easy to install.
Easy to install. It looks great and holds up a fairly heavy homemade door. Rolls smoothly and fits perfectly. Worth the price!
