JUST what I wanted!
Once heating plate heats up (30-60 secs maybe?), keeps coffee/tea temp just right (for me). For those stating beverage is not quite hot enough...wonder if cup is allowed to remain on heating plate long enough for IT to heat up. Have a VERY large morning coffee cup and it heats up beautifully...(when left on plate a wee bit to heat up to where l like it). Tried porcelain cup, so far ok. Haven't tried bone china tea cups yet, may test. Appreciate the on/off switch so I don't have to connect/disconnect plug (although, it is suggested when not in use). Trusting that surge protector it's plugged into will keep me safe :). Hope quality holds up for a fair amount of time. "Time" will tell. Rated 4 stars vs 5 due to one anti-slip/scratch pad was missing (quality control??).Tip: If coffee/tea cup has a lid, beverage will get even hotter!π

Great for melting Candles
I bought these because I melt tea light candles so I can add my own herbs to them & these plates work great. On my previous warmer, I was only able to put 3 tea light candles on it but with these I can place 4 tea light candles per warmer & they melt quickly.

Replaced old coffee warmer...
This is the third coffee warmer I have had in the last 30 years, the first two are still working well, they just have lost some of the base where the cup sets on the base. This warmer does NOT get hot, it gets lightly warm. I will turn it on 20 minutes before I need it and even after drinking my full tall mug of coffee, it is still just barely warm.

Keeps coffee cup warm
If you like to sit and enjoy coffee over time and relax the problem is your drink gets cold, but with this mug warmer you first sip to the last sip is nice and warm. All you need is a plug and a place to sit the mug warmer.Nice long enjoyable coffee break.

Keeps last half of coffee HOT :-)
I can't speak to longevity, but for the time I've had it (~1 month) it's been the best inexpensive cup warmer that I've used. Easy to use, low profile/takes up minimal space and keeps my cup/beverage at a great temperature (last half of cup of coffee is great). In fact, I now have 3. One in home office, one at work and one spare :)

AWESOME to have during colder weather! Also works with mugs that aren't perfectly flat.
I was getting tired of my hot chocolate or cider getting cold in the morning, and this solved that perfectly! It wasn't at all expensive, has at least a decently-long cord, as well a super-convenient in-line switch (similar to a lamp cord), and a bright red indicator light. It gets VERY hot - hot enough to burn you for sure, but still not quite hot enough that it would burn your coffee. It has some tiny "feet" on the underside to help elevate it, but I'd still not recommend leaving this on (even potentially) combustible material for long periods of time. A cutting board or plastic mat might be beneficial for wood surfaces that are prone to heat damage. Finally, if using a mug that isn't perfectly flat on the bottom, I'd suggest occasional stirring so the heat will distribute more evenly, as well as putting a napkin or paper towel on top of the mug. This will help ensure a more optimal temperature. As far as flat mugs go, it constantly kept my drink steaming hot - even ~15 minutes after initially making it. This was quite surprising to me, considering there are many of these things that don't seem to work very effectively. Finally, upon the first few uses, it may start to emit a "burning plastic"-like smell once it's been on for a while, and may even be strong enough to make the room noticeably smell. But, the smell dissipates after several uses, and will eventually no longer be noticeable. I'm not taking away stars, since virtually any heating appliance will stink upon initial use. Also, while the plastic house doesn't feel super thick and the unit is crazy-light, it has a bunch of screws to secure it, so I wouldn't worry about it falling apart under normal use (unless abused, possibly).
