The Animal Shelter Mystery (The Boxcar Children Mysteries) Review: Series Appeals to Kids and Parents - I read that the first 19 Boxcar children books were written by the original author, and the others added later on. I also read that at book 20 the children are small again all of a sudden, even though they had been gradually ageing during the first 19 books. Well, that was true. They got small again. I just explained to my kids that people liked the series so much that they continued writing more books, but made the kids younger again. My son nodded and said - "yes, if they hadn't the grandfather would have grown so old he would have had to die." So to him it made good sense. I have read books 20 - 22 now and I must say they are just as good as the first 19. All simple, short and relaxing bedtime stories that can be read in one or two sittings, with characters that are well-behaved and not snarky and cheeky or wise beyond their age...yet also adventurous and quite independent. As you will see from other reviewers too, even though this is a rather old series of books, somehow they strike the right chord with kids (and parents)! Review: This book was fabulous! - One thing that I liked about this book was that it was a mystery and I love mysteries. The next reason I liked it was my mom read these to me when I was little. I would like you to read it if you like mysteries and animals! It was a wonderful book I would recommend it to anyone.

Boxcar children
I remember reading the Boxcar Children as a child. I remember them to be of respectable content for children. I started to get the boxcar children books for my 9 year old, who can read an entire book in one sitting. She tends to not like dated stories or history stories, she likes her books to be modern like the Dork Diaries, but she really likes these books and with so many to choose from, I can keep her entertained for awhile.

We love a fun, clean mystery
We loved this mystery. A lot of action and a mystery that kept us guessing ๐. We loved this book from cover to cover.

Good book, not a good ending
I just finished reading the book and when I got to the end, I thought there would be more, because it felt like it stopped in the middle of the book. I like most of the other books, but I was disappointed in this one.
