These match the look and performance of the original tuners on my 1971 martin D35 guitar perfectly. However the holes on the tuning head did have to be drilled 1/64" larger. I used a pair of locking vise grip pliers to hold the drill and drilled by hand from the FRONT of the head. Guitar tunes and stays in tune like new.

When I put these tuners on and tuned for the first time I was amazed at how the stayed in tune. If anyone wants that stay in tune guitar then they must use Grover tuners. I spent 100 on a beat up Less Paul Epiphone that works like a new Gibson.

Nothing fancy but they do the job. If I had my time back I might go with the vintage style butter-bean tuners, but that's no fault of these tuners. They do what they are supposed to and are a nice, needed replacement for the originals in my '70s Martin.

Unfortunately, the photo shows a much duller finish, which was what I wanted. They came way too shiny, as you might like. I've been covering them with sweat trying to get a better look.

I used it on my Epiphone les paul.
