Could you wear this dress without a bra and not be 'nipply' in it?

Never tried, but the material isn't super thick so I would say they would be out. Plus, not sure how busty you are, but I have a larger top and the top tended to try to ride behind my breasts so I ended up having to wear a tank to keep everyone covered.
