It is possible -it is 2 inches and very sticky - comes with peel off backing - it is thinner than A piece of typing paper

Heat is not a problem for this tape - It is thinner than a piece of typing paper - I do not know the strength of this tape in holding things up - holding things together is what I used it for

It is thinner than an average piece of typing paper - not even one mil.

Q: Can this be used on an automobile tail pipe?

I don't recommend using any tape for a tail pipe. They get extremely hot, which would weaken the adhesive. The vibrate, endure weather, tape isn't the answer. That being said, this tape is bad a&#. And I use it for just about everything. I can't tell you to try it, but I will say it's the perfect tape.
