Its a great step by step guide to scaling down
This is a fabulous book. Its a great step by step guide to scaling down, decluttering, and making your life moŕe enjoyable. I bought the hard copy years ago. Now that I have a home of my own I'm ready for a second dose, and I bought the kindle version. This book on Kindle allows me to read and plan on the fly. It's time to declutter our home. Things that didn't apply for me before - now do with my own house. I highly recommend this book.

Living The Simple Life
From here to there. The author has lived the complicated and keep up with the Jones's lifestyle with all the expensive items that go along with it.The more things you own, the more things you have to take care of, until the point comes where you spend all your time keeping track of and maintaining your stuff to where it owns you. Has some good ideas on how to get started, and why. Quality not quantity helps you live a more simplified life.

Simplicity at its best for a beginner
This Book makes it really simple. The author doesn't clutter up the process with lots of words. But she does take idea of a Simple Life further than just eliminating "stuff"! I shall read it often...

I really like Elaine St
I really like Elaine St. James earlier book on 100 ways to Inner Simplicity. There is not much new info in this one. Nicely presented. But wish I could return it. Prefer to have the cash instead.

One of the best books ever!
Fifteen years ago this book changed my life. Easy to read, easy to put into practice. I learned so many things from this book which have become part of my automatic routine. I bought it again to see if I can improve on anything. I pretty much learned it all the first time, but there are a couple of areas that are more applicable now.

A book that helps a person heal!
Execellent Book! After reading the book, I begin to let material things that I was emotional connected to and when that process occurred, the internal emotional stuff that I held onto begin to go away. I am still in the healing process. Thank you for this wonderful book.

but a common sense guide to better living.
One of the first books I read years ago about cleaning out and living a simpler life. Not every suggestion is for everyone, but a common sense guide to better living.

Not for me
Sorry, this book lost me 1/4 the way through. First she tells us not to wash our towels every week. What? You've only been changing your towels once a week and now you think that's too often? Then she says to wear our clothing longer without washing them. Well, okay. Until she makes a joke about knowing how to stand upwind from the other person. Losing me a little bit here. Then she tells us not to bother with dusting or vacuuming the house or mowing the lawn. Huh? That's when I closed the book. If drying myself with a stinky towel, dressing in dirty clothing and living in a filthy house with an overgrown lawn is the simple life, it's not for me.
