6 Holes Ocarina Bird Shape Ceramic Ocarina Portable Music Instrument Ocarina for Beginner Professional Performer

This was my first ocarina I purchased on Amazon, and it took a long time to get here, in the meantime I had some other ones on order too. This particular one though I am very surprised with because I expected it to be like a toy but it is actually very nice quality for the money. It is not an Alto C, it is in fact a Soprano G ocarina. Mine came with a fancy little music book, all in Chinese, but here's the thing though...if you can read the numbering and the tuning charts, you can easily see they are showing you diatonic scales for C, F, and G on this instrument, along with several songs...Umm, if the ocarina was tuned in the key of C. Therefore I will have to transpose these charts for a G instrument, and since I'm very new to all this it will force me to learn some fairly advanced music theory. But anyway, back to the actual ocarina, random color for me meant a lovely shade of dark avocado Green! It comes pre-fitted with a neck cord, so I don't drop it while learning to play, of course. As another buyer mentioned, it came in a package, not in a box, so there is some concern about breakage from shipping such a far distance, but I might be tempted to order another one just to see what color I'd get next time...I am a new player, with years of harmonica experience so I'd have to say this ocarina is quite good deal for its low price. It has a very bright, cheery tone quality, not woofy or airy. It has subholes for the extra tones so this is a 12 holed one. Anyone of any age or skill level would enjoy this ocarina, but it is ceramic so it can break, maybe don't give to a very small child just yet, in case they drop it. Cheers.

This is adorable and has a nice sound. Its a greT gift for someone who is quirky and hard to buy for.

The nose of the ocarina was broken off, which did leave the chamber exposed. It was shipped in a bubble wrap envelope that was clearly insufficient. The ocarina appeared too small to be an Alto C, as is described. After repairing the instrument I was able to determine that it was a Soprano F, as I suspected, with a range from D5 to B♭6. The title and description also indicate this is an "OcarinaWind," but that does not appear to be the case, as it lacks their "OW" stamp near the mouthpiece. F6 to B♭6 are very weak. Particularly A♭6 to B♭6, which sometimes squeak or do not sound at all. It's possible that is due to damage. It looks better in person and has a nice feel and tone. I did not have a replacement sent since I made the purchase expecting an Alto C. I'm sure it is decent for the price if it were intact and you don't mind that it's a perfect fourth higher than described.

A gift

It looked like it would have been really nice. But sadly it was broken! It was shipped in a package not a box. Even though it was rapped in plastic the end was broken. So I literally threw it in the trash. It looked like it was built good. It had weight too it.
