St. Louis Butter Cake - Classic

This is the single greatest thing to pass through my lips. It's sweet and buttery and gooey with a crispy and flaky top. No need to warm this cake up! It's best served room temp. Please believe that Mama Bev's me is treated with the respect of a saint in our home. The woman truly knows what she's doing. Order on or your life is literally incomplete. If you don't like the cake, send me the remainder and I will happily dispose of it properly for you.

If you're buying this expecting a CAKE, you don't know what St. Louis Butter Cake is. This is dense and fudgy, exactly like it should be. There's a nice crispy flaky crust on top. It tastes so good, it's perfectly baked, perfectly sweet. It also arrived well packaged and quickly.

I read about this cake and wanted to try it. It arrived very protected and looking like the photo. It is a very rich and sweet gooey type of confection, having a very moist but not runny quality. Think of a yellow box mix with pudding or a dump cake. While I loved the cake, the expense, en total, destroyed my wanting to order another. Shipping added 1/2-again to an already pricy dessert.

I ordered this for my husband's birthday. He is originally from the St. Louis area and I knew he would appreciate having this memory from his childhood. The cake was as he remembered it. It has a cheesecake like middle with a crunchy top. Very rich but very good.

My sisters-in-law loved it. I thought it was a bit sweeter instead of buttery

I absolutely LOVE this butter cake!! My mom used to make this cake. I have not had her cake in many years. When I opened the box and smelled this cake I was immediately back in my mom's kitchen with just the smell! Then I tasted it. It was so yummy! Thank you for bringing back a childhood memory for me!

I’m sure this was made with quality ingredients, however this is not what I expected it was not cake like whatsoever it was more like fudge. Pure sugar sweet sticky fudge.
