Duke-N-Boots Litter Scoop and Release, Patented Scoop and Release Design, Gray Plastic

I recently bought an UBBI diaper pail to use for litter disposal (fantastic solution over the Litter Genie because you can use regular trash bags) and the opening at the top is just a bit too small for my regular cat litter scoop. I searched and searched to find one that would fit the opening and luckily I found this. I'm not giving it 5 stars because I would prefer metal over plastic, but it does work well. I just hope it doesn't break.Pros:1. Fits nicely into the opening of the Ubbi (or litter Genie)2. Large size makes scooping and sifting a breeze3. The rounded corners get into the curve of my round litter box4. The door opens and closes securely, although it snaps shut so fast that litter will fly out if you're not careful. I'm learning to release the button gradually over the litter box now.Cons1. Plastic doesn't clean as well as metal and it's more likely to break2. Scooping is a little awkward due to the position of the handle being over the scoop instead of behind so it's harder to get leverage when scooping the bigger clumps.

So it is sturdy and made well. You get a good angle for getting the stuck on crud off. I’ve been using it on two boxes, three to four times a week, for two months now and it still looks and acts new.I have two minor thoughts. First, it would be nice if the cup at the bottom had sifting holes too (I’ll just drill my own), and second, the spring holding the flap closed is so strong that if you are not VERY careful you will fling any remaining litter and offal all over the place after you dump the bulk.Really minor issues and easily fixed and adjusted for. Great product!

Excellent pooper scooper. As someone who legit hates anything to do with cat litter, this product gets high marks. Easy to use and efficient.

It's bigger than I thought it would be. A good size scoop and bottom compartment. It does not have a soft close spring. It snaps shut like it could take a finger and loud. I went to use it, it snapped shut and got dirty litter all over me! Also takes some work to control it one handed. Not for those with hand movement issues. The idea is nice but I'm not sure I would actually recommend it

I like the ergonomic handle and the fact that it’s larger than the other scoops I’ve had. However, that can make things more difficult to pick up smaller pieces or ones at the edge of the box. The holes being large aren’t an issue for me. The biggest issue I have is that so much litter goes in the trap that is still good, resulting in my throwing away that litter unnecessarily. That can be expensive in the long run. Also, that trap makes a loud snapping noise when it closes. I guess that means it’s very secure though!

This is nice and large, and I can scoop once instead of multiple times. It holds everything in place until i give it a light squeeze, directly unto the litter pail. No more scattered litter on the floor and the design keeps my hand further away from the soiled litter than traditional scoops. Excellent for multi-cat households.

I wanted to love this but it is super awkward to use.

This is a very sturdy scoop that works perfectly in cleaning a small chicken coop. Its ergonomic design is perfect for small spaces like nestingboxes. A traditional scoop is difficult to use due to the long handle.
