Thoroughly tested by a 90 pound Airedale!
My Airedale is a big guy and good hearted, but he gets so excited and happy to see other dogs (and people) that he would have certainly snapped a lesser leash long ago. This one has survived basically like new for about a year and is basically a solid steel rope with a thick plastic coating. He did get ahold of the leash to chew once, and while a small portion of the plastic coating on the bottom was punctured, the integrity of the leash was unaffected and there has been no rust or anything. Highly recommended for large dogs!

Terrible lead
Worst lead I’ve ever used. My dog (70 lb lab mix) has gotten off of it 4 times in the matter of a couple months. The carabiner is not secure. Reason being that the lead does not have any ability to spin like a traditional lead would. So as the dog runs in circles and does what dogs do, the cable will bind up. The binding will actually unlatch the fully tightened and locked down carabiner and allow the dog to escape. Horrible design. The binding has worn the opposite end of the lead attached to the tie down completely through the coating and has already started rusting. Just poor quality all the way around.Updated:4 stars for customer service. Offered a full refund with no need for return.

Works Well For My 97 IB Great Pyrenees..
I've had this for over a month now attached to my porch its held up to a 5 year old 97 ib Great Pyrenees very well (she has always been supervised while outside). Its been in the rain, ice and snow many times with no problems. I do enjoy that the clasps are both a clip and a twist closure to provide extra security.. No complains here other and I expected it to be a bit long but thats more on me than the product.

FINALLY
I am happy to report that this leash might finally be the one that my dog cannot bite through! We have gone through 10 cloth leashes since June.So far so good!!! AND it is very affordable. Give it a try...it works.Update: Just bought a second leash to leave in my car. My dog did try to bite through the leash but "gave up!"This leash has solved my problems with my dog.

Amazingly strong!
My 200 lb bull mastiff was no match for this cable. Because he loves other dogs so much, he charges at them to play. To say the least, they do NOT like it. He went charging after a dog and was yanked back before he could reach the petrified owner and dog that walked by. If ever there was a time the line could have broken, that was it. That was his first time on the cable. He hasn't run at anyone or anything ever since.

Solid Cable Tie
I had the 50ft length. It was long enough for Koda to be able to run while keeping him safe. Huskies are known for their high energy and a fence often doesn't contain them(they dig and jump)! Even at 12 years old he still needs daily exercise and he loves to lay in the grass and take in the sun. Koda was able to stay out of mischief and didn't get himself tangled. I also appreciate that the clasp had a locking mechanism on it for a bit of extra security. The cable does have a plastic sheath and Koda is not a destructive dog but it seemed to be coated well enough to protect from natural wear and tear.

Sturdy and does double duty
This leash does double duty for my dog. I bought it mainly for taking him camping. I use it as a leash and then attach a carabeiner to the handle to clip it to his dog trolley at the campsite. Its a steel cable encased in a plastic coating and very durable. I don't leave it outside all the time... Mostly just the 5 to 7 days we are at a campsite so I don't know if it would rust. However, I can imagine water could get underneath the plastic so I personally would not leave it outdoors all the time.My dog also does not chew. Even if he did though, he could only chew through the plastic part and not the steel cable.I have a large dog and I can tell you there's no way he's going to break this leash. The only part that might possibly fail is the clip where it attaches to the collar. As a preventative precaution, I use a second double ended snap along with it if I know he will not be supervised while he's on his trolley.Overall, this was a great value for me for travel and it cuts down on the amount of dog gear I have to pack for camping trips. The only thing so would change is that I wish it was shorter.

Chew Proof, Tangle Proof, Easy to Clean, Quality Product at Reasonable Price
Perfect! This leash is tangle proof, light weight, great length, easy to clean and definitely chew proof. Our knuckle heads have destroyed many so called chew proof leash’s that were quite pricey. One day we loaded them up for a 3 minute ride down the road to the vets. When we went to unload, they both had less than two inches of lead attached to the clip on their collars. We had to go in and borrow two grooming leads just to get them in the office. They litterly took turns freeing each other! No more. After only a few chomps at they’re XiaZ leads they never tried again. These two both weigh 70 lbs and must be on a lead. It is so wonderful to walk them without them constantly trying to chew free. They know they can’t, so they don’t try. Thanks for a great product for an even greater price. The neon orange handle is awesome.

Not a good product.
This product did exactly what they said it wouldn’t. The coating cracked in multiple places after 3 months and then the cable kinked in many places. My dog is 100lbs that’s not even half the rated weight. I would not purchase this item again.
