You need this
If you own a Ryobi strimmer, and want to cut anything thicker than grass, then you need this. I found out the hard way while trying to cut Virginia Creeper with the standard strimmer plastic twine. The cord got wrapped around the creeper vine and the cartridge destroyed itself in the process. IMO the Ryobi blade head system should be included with every strimmer.

Excellent addition to Ryobi One+ Strimmers
This is a very good, perhaps even essential addition to the Ryobi strimmer range. I have the Ryobi OLT1832, which by itself is a good, lightweight, but not particularly powerful strimmer - capable on its own mainly of light grass trimming and not much else. Trying to cut through any deeper grass or undergrowth with this strimmer would leave you disappointed. With the addition of this blade fitting, which is very easy to fit (and to replace blades where necessary), the strimmer has now become much more useful and can now cut through medium sized brambles, knee-high grass and bracken with no issues. I'd say it's turned a 3 star battery-powered strimmer into a 4.5 star product. The only downside to this product is that it's possible for the blades to detach themselved from the disc during use, which is inconvenient and potentially quite dangerous. Whilst the blades are usually easy to locate (since they're brightly coloured - although for this purpose could be orange or a colour less similar to grass/weeds) and re-attach, I feel that a better mechanism for securing the blades to the disc would definitely be beneficial and that's the only reason for giving this a 4- rather than a 5-star review.

Inexpensive improvement to Ryobi strimmer.
I bought this to clear up thick weeds and high grass around a community path. The plastic blades worked well. If they come in contact with stones, hidden stumps, etc they will snap and after a while they will wear down. This isn't a problem as they are disposable and if you take care you'll get a decent amount of time out of them. This is an inexpensive addition which extends the power of the Ryobi strimmer. It can't compete with a bladed petrol strimmer but is good value and worth getting. I haven't tried cheap generic blades but even paying for Ryobi blades isn't overly expensive. Recommended. Why did you choose this product over others?: M

Easy to change blades
Better cutting than the line good for light brush not just grass

Great idea, just a shame about the execution
These seem like a great idea and do a great job when they work. However, I fear the would become ludicrously expensive method (vs spool string) due to the blades not affixing properly to the mounts, therefore when you tap a stone, the ground, a wall or flower pot that you ate strimming around, the blade flies off (not in a dramatic Hollywood fashion, but still), and that is if it doesn't break. In one round of my medium sized garden edging I used 4 blades (1 broke, 1 went missing). Therefore I assume I'd need to buy a new pack each month. The cut is very strong and neat so the cut grass does look better than with the string, so if flying bits of plastic don't bother you than this certainly is a good purchase.

Perfect Addition to the Ryobi Family
After reading other reviews and watching some YouTube videos I decided to get the RAC155 to compliment my strimmer for thicker jobs - and I am glad that I did. Like many, I have access to a petrol strimmer that can have a brush cutter blade attached in favour of the string line. It's a good brand (Hyundai, it's powerful, nothing phases it too much. The problem with it is the weight for prolonged jobs, the noise and the heat produced from the engine make it unpleasant to use. You can't really use a petrol strimmer easily for fine, trimming jobs and edging. You need a light weight unit for that, but then you can't ideally use that lightweight strimmer for heavier duty jobs which is where these blades come in perfectly to fill the gap. I bought these blades to work on a thick overgrown bank which a beech hedge sits on. The bank are become overgrown not been cut this season so was thick with various grass types as well as brambles, moss and dead grass. The Ryobi strimmer would not of coped just using the string line therefore I purchase the blades and it worked a dream. I lost one serrated blade when I hit a tree branch hidden under the grass which snapped at the connection point. I also lost another blade that didn't snap, I was able to put back on again I was able to complete two sides of the bank with two aftermarket batteries, but how do I have been using a Ryobi battery or one of their high-performance batteries? I suspect it would've done both on a single charge a five amp hour or above. Highly recommend for anybody who has a compatible machine that doesn't want to buy an additional Ryobi brush cutter. This provides much better value for money and flexibility.

Best mod for your Ryobi Strimmer
I added this to my Ryobi strimmer instead of replacing the line spool. Fits straight on and snaps in place of the line cover. The little plastic blades snap on and although they can wear quite quickly, there are cheap blades to buy on Amazon available. The cover does comes with 10 blades to get you going. I have large front and back lawns approx. 2,000m2 so get through a set of two with the edging, weed whacking etc. each time. Occasionally one may fly off if worn down, but the noise changes and you can tell instantly. The strimmer sounds like a mini helicopter when you first start and they cut through the hardiest of weed. Throughly recommend making the change from the thin line.

Long lasting
These are so much better than the line type strimmer heads. They don’t keep snapping and you can actually see the cutting arc. The adapter is easy to fit and it’s even easier to change the blades. Be aware though, that you can damage trees with it. But as I said before, you can see the cutting arc, so you should be okay.

The blades themselves are plastic and get broken very easily. not at the blade side, but at the end of the "loop" where plastic is flimsy and thin. definitely not for brushes unless you want to replace the blades every few minutes.
