2.1X Eschenbach MaxTV Glasses - Distance Viewing

I don't understand Loraxs review.He says, "the focal length is 10 meters to..."It's not, it's ten feet to....Then he says it won't focus a 3 ft or 4 to 5 ft, duh,it won'tfocus at less than 10 feet.I have a set and they work great for watching TV, my TVs are10 feet and 11 ft from my viewing position. They magnify so I canread small print on the TVs. Each lens is separately focusable.For my eyes the lenses are a little to far apart, or my eyes areto close together :-) I haven't considered this a big drawback. I bought them to see the "odds" box on screen during Texas Holdem Poker.And they do the job well!

Although this product says it is best for TV viewing, it also claims to have a focal length of 10 meters to infinity. That would make it suitable for any distance viewing. However, the pair I received was blurred at distances less than 3 feet and a double image resulted when viewing at more than 4 or 5 feet. The double image was a result of the line of sight of the individual lenses converging too soon, at a point about 4 feet forward. This would make them ONLY suitable for TV viewing and ONLY if the TV is 3 1/2 feet in front of the viewer. I wanted them for magnifying painting studio subjects in the same room. It was not suitable for my purpose. It would have been, if the convergence angle could be adjusted, but only the individual lenses focus were adjustable. These glasses DO NOT have a usable range of 10 to infinity meters as advertised, and in my opinion cannot even be used satisfactory for TV viewing. The only bright spot is that the vendor returned my money almost immediately after I returned the glasses and I am only out the shipping costs. Try them first before buying, else skip this one.
