Love the sound and they feel more comfortable than expected
...::: Intro :::...Coming of HA-FX 40 which are now discontinued, I'm now using these mostly for work. Since these, I have also purchased the HAFX101 which had better reviews.Since then I downgraded my review from 5 stars to 4 stars (though they are more like 4.5 stars, their main issue are they predecessor). Why?While these are great earbuds, they are a step back from the HAFX101 which had a crisper sound when compared to these....::: Break in Period :::...My very first experience was a rather disappointing, HOWEVER after a brief BREAK IN period of a (a couple hours are enough) the sound has improved a lot and they are now great......::: Sound :::...In terms of sound: the second best headphones I've ever owned. They are by no means bad, the bass is clear and the trebles are good too. They do sound a bit flat in the mids. These lacking mids become most noticeable when comparing them with their predecessor the HAFX101 which sound crisper.....::: Comfort and Noise Cancellation :::...Like the HA-FX40 and HA-FX101 they are superbly comfortable and excellent at shielding off outside noise. I sometimes use them instead of earplugs when using power tools...:: Motorcycle Use ::..Despite their larger appearance, they also work well in motorcycle helmets which is where I use my 101s (almost identical in fit) to listen to music and cut out the wind noise. They even work with the volume at a relatively low setting which is what I wanted as I value my hearing.....::: Comparison to Other Brands :::...Until I discovered JVC in ear buds, I had numerous similarly priced headphones which include:* Sony OEM headphones off the Z3 and other devices (in ear, big headphones,....)* OEM Samsung Galaxy S6 (in ear buds),* Sennheiser headphones (not in ear).* No name headphones of all sorts.Unlike my consistently comfortable experience with JVC, no in ear headphones I've ever had would sit + seal well. The Samsungs were downright painful just as the Sony headphones of my Z3. My big headphones never sounded anywhere near as good as they were often tinny, or lacking in some range (unlike my JVCs).....::: Comparison to to HAFX40 :::...The HAFX40 used to be my go to earbuds. However, the more I listen to these "bigger" units, the less I listen to my 40's as I love the richer bass.In terms of comfort, they are remarkably similar. While they feel bigger in my ears, they seem to stay better. As I listen to a lot of electronic music, I now miss the rich bass whenever I listen to the 40's and need to raise the volume.A neat upgrade I appreciate is the angled headphone jack.....::: Comparison to to HAFX101 :::...Very similar in appearance, though I did manage to get the HAFX101s in a nicer colour. The 101s have a straight headphone jack and have the outsides of the drivers (the black part on coloured ones) made from rubber which feels nicer. They are also a tad smaller. In terms of sound, they just can't keep up with the 101's.As mentioned above, these sound a bit more muffled in the mids, which is especially noticable when comparing them side by side. That's a bit of a disappointment as you'd expect successors to be better than the product they replace.....::: Final Words :::...While these can't keep up with the HAFX101, these are decent earbuds for the price. Considering their predecessors are become more and more difficult to find, I much rather have these than any other earbuds in a similar price range.

I like all JVC heaphones for the most part
I like all JVC heaphones for the most part...being that he regular gummy earbuds suck, but the gummy pros are an awesome cheap headphone that I would put up against the most expensive pair of ear buds. These are the first Xtreme series I have had and they too do an excellent job for earbuds. The bass is insane with the only drawback for me being that they hang too far out of the ear...where the Gummy Pros are pretty snug in the ear. Great headphones regardless of how far they stick out of one's ear...they haven't fallen out yet.UPDATE: These headphones are really quite insane in how well they handle bass and all those audio levels in between the low and high ends. Crisp audio and thundering bass quite literally. I used to use a pair of over the ear Superlux with my laptop and they have been retired entirely to the Stereo reciever and I now use these headphones in their place full time. I have always been a JVC Gummy Plus fan...performance to price you can't beat them and in my honest opinion they kill the Beats hands down for only $7 bucks or so vs. the ungodly and greedy sum Beats will have you pay for an inferior product. Then you have these that put the Gummy Plus' to task and again far better than Beats for $12 I think I paid when I got these. Makes no sense why anyone would pay $100+ for any earbud from Beats specifically when they could have these for a fraction of the cost. I can pretty much assure anyone that buys these will be quite impressed and glad they did. Gummy Plus or these XX Xtreme...JVC has done a great job for sure.

Pretty in Pink???? Who cares...
I have been buying this exact set of earbuds for six years. I started with a red pair. They lasted about a month before my dog ate them. I bought another red pair. They got stuck in the lazy boy and I ruined them when I pulled too hard trying to get them loose. I bought a blue pair in April of 2015, which I am still using. I decided to get another pair for travel so I could always leave the blue ones home. The pink ones were on sale for $5.99. I am not one of those men who shies away from pink (OR a bargain!). I bought them in March of 2019. We got a new little dog. She thought they were candy and ate them. I was really happy to see that the pink ones were still on sale, so I bought two pairs two weeks ago. I really like these. I tried the Blue Tooth ones. Didn't like them. I hate the ones that come with the iPhone. These are comfortable, NEVER fall out (unless the get caught on the kitchen drawer pulls- dang it), and have what I consider awesome sound. Guys... get over yourselves and order the pink ones. The blue ones are $14.99 and the red ones are $17.20. They may all be slightly different, but the sound is the same, as far as I am concerned.

Does what I need it to do
They're louder than my skull candy's in both treble and bass... but I suspect the phone i have has something to do with the loudness as well, but I like em

Three years and still kicking
I bought these almost 3 years ago (june of 2016) and these headphones were and still are great. I put a lot of research into my purchases and took a gamble on this one, and I hit the jackpot.I use them to work out, to ignore co-workers, and to watch youtube late at night. I probably have them in my ears longer than I have them out. The sound quality is great and the bass is booming. I even go to all extremes to carry a dongle to allow me to continue using them on my iPhone (curse apple for getting rid of the headphone jack)I've taken these on trips, and even tripped on them once or twice, still nothing bad has happened. Sometimes I feel like the quality is going down, but nope, chuck testa, just the video quality on youtube is terrible.I don't believe in giving 5 stars, so I'll give this 4 stars. There are some times I hear soft static noises when no music is playing, but that could just be the device that I am currently using at the time.

Disappoinment
Plastic, cheap headphones, uncomfortable to use, in my opinion. Sound quality good only for watching tv. Not for music. I expected more from this brand. Sound is as good as cheap headphones can offer, bass not superb as advertised. For basic use, they are ok for many people.

Incredible bass
Really great sound with decent treble and rumbling low bass. Great earphones!

It Works wonders.
This beats out many higher prices IEMS if you love bass. At first, a bit too sparkly - but, I am not a believer in burn rate - but for these they need them. Once burned in, great sound, exceptional for the price. Small tips great for smaller ears. Cant say enough good things about them - buying another pair.

Great earbuds!
I use these when I'm not home, and they're just great! I use HAM5x cans at home and these HAFX102V's have a similar audio response if you account for the smaller components. They look nice, too!
