delightfully good, tangy & bright, firm/intact--NO MUSH
Sort the reviews by most recent. Looks like older product had texture issues, and that there were other options on this page before. As of Feb 1 2026, these Anchovies in Olive oil, in a tin, are fantastic. Floored by how good! I will buy again. Oh my, these are good. Long fillets, no mush, no segments. I really like Fishwife Gift Set that I treat myself with on occasion, which has a very good anchovy. I wanted more anchovies but not at that pricing. I also wanted a quality anchovy that has the briny taste, and not just a plain fish flavor. No mush. I am already a huge fan of Season products, so it made sense for me to try theirs. Which landed me here. I hadnt actually tried anchovies before Fishwife, so I had nothing to compare it to. I thought those were good, and hoped a less expensive option could be found. Yay for Season having delicious anchovies like I was looking for. I am pleased that these are as scrumptious as I was hoping for. Tangy bright brine that just lights up my taste buds. I dont do anything with them other than eat them straight. Currently the most exiting thing I do with them is add half a tin to my plate of sardines, mackerel, herring or salmon. Just gives a little added pop of flavor on the side. I am carnivore in my eating lifestyle, or maybe more like keto-vore. Basically I keep my carbs down to 10 grams total or less per day. So mostly animal products. I happen to love canned fish, so I consume that sort of stuff regularly. Anchovies is like a seasoning to me. I dont use much, but what it offers is healthy and gives a nice salty flavor. Since I am so low carb, I do need added salt. Maybe that is why my taste buds and brain likes these so much to the point of craving them? Or it could be that salt also lights up dopamine center of brain. No idea, but it doesnt seem to trigger me to take down a cake or anything, so as of right now these are a very welcome addition to my menu. The tin is pretty easy to open. Peel back lid feels secure, and compared to some tins this opened with relative ease and peeled back all the way. I didnt totally take it off as I wanted to close it back up after taking out a portion. I am really glad I finally got around to trying anchovies I dont rate on price but I will comment that I thought that the 12 pack was quite reasonable especially over the Fishwife brand ($10 per can!)

WARNING: Literally a Rotten Product
Our first can was delicious; however our second can smelled awful and was obviously spoiled. We then opened several more cans and they too were spoiled at different levels which might have ruined our ceasar salad if we hadn't been aware because of the first can. There was no damage to the boxes to tip us off. Some of the cans were swollen; each can had varying levels of expansion so might not have noticed right away! No response from seller. Wrote a letter to the manufacturer, and they responded and sent us their cost a replacement.

Taste Great and Very Convienient
I love anchovies, and these are excellent - very firm and just the right amount of salt. The fact that they come in jars instead of cans makes them even better - easier to use and store after opening. One odd thing is that a 4 oz jar seems to get used up faster than a 2 oz tin! Not sure why that is (I am not suggesting that the weight is wrong, but I have not measured it); maybe it's just because I like them so much? I guess I'll have to open a tin and compare the weights of fish and oil in both, just to be sure. For now, I trust the label, and I'm sticking with my 5-star rating. One minor complaint is that the jars did not seem to be sealed very well from the factory - when the box came there were signs of oil staining on the cardboard, and most of the jars were somewhat oily. None of the lids were loose (but they all could be tightened just a little bit more), and there was no oil dripping out of the box, so the leakage was slight, but still unusual. This could be caused by the fact I live over 7,000 feet in altitude, and everything expands as it gets up here. As long as none of them arrive worse than this in the future, I won't complain.

Perfect package but exploded
Latest update: Seasons stands behind their products. You must go to their direct website and furnish direct product info with proof of purchase. They replaced all 12 cans and this batch is why i buy Seasons anchovies. Update: HALF OF THESE SEALED CANS ARE READY TO BURST! BAD-BAD-BAD. I AM POSTING THE EXPIRATION DATE OF JUN 02, 2025. Today is 1/30/2024. Once a slight pull on the tab occurred the tin exploded, smelled bad, and tasted worse. Not sure what caused the problem but the contents were rotten. Expiration date was a year in the future. Have 11 more packages and will update review.

Anchovie Fillets? No Anchovie MUSH!
I have no Idea. I bought a case of 12. I received them in a plastic bag with a flimsy box, envelop? Not sure how they packed it. These anchovies are packed in GLASS. Who in their right mind thinks that glass will survive being shipped with no appropriate packing. All containers arrived broken, well almost, 1 survived. The anchovies were terrible, they were mush instead of fillets. I tasted them and I don't recommend them. There many other available options, much better than these.

Might as well have come in a tube
Probably okay for a Caesar-type salad, or to stuff olives. But this is to anchovies what hamburger is to a cow. What you get is a jar of oil, half-filled with the remains of anchovies in the bottom half. You will absolutely, positively, not be able to extract even ONE intact fish. NOT ONE. Likely your first efforts will lead, as mine did, to pouring off excess oil, then dumping the jar on a plate, in a (futile) hope that you'll be able to identify an entire anchovy in there, somewhere. But, alas... it is not to be. This is reminiscent of what a fish that washed up on a beach would be. Touch it, and it falls apart. Your best bet would be to toss it in a frosting bag, and squeeze the mush out where you need it. For a pizza? FUHGETTABOUTIT

Very high quality product
I love that these anchovies come in glass. They are the perfect size and I look forward to using them as part of my meals. The box I received from Amazon had two broken jars so the olive oil leaked out into the box. I work for Amazon in their Problem Solve department at the sortation center my box passed through. I know that no one was at fault. The seller did an excellent job packaging the jars. The person who packed them in the Amazon box was required to use the size box the computer determines. Unfortunately, there is too much room in the box even with the bubbles they are packed in. The only solution I know of would be for the seller to pack them in their own boxes with no extra space but that would also mean raising the price. The anchovies taste great. They are wild caught and packed in 100% olive oil. The product is exactly as described and the seller goes to great detail to bring this product to those with a taste for anchovies. Amazon refunded me the price of the product. So everyone exceeded my expectations. I hope people will still consider purchasing this product. Most of the time everything goes smoothly with the transport.

Leaked oil all over the package
The leaked oil were all over the package. It was disgusting but could not return them because they were grocery. I used one bottle that was intact but the flavor was kind of weak. Very disappointed. This experience made me vowed never to purchase groceries on Amazon again.
