Playing the Long Game
There is SO much to admire about our Queen. Although I'm from the US, I feel as if she's my Queen too. The writing here is charming and engaging, with a different "Rule" for each chapter. Don't be fooled into thinking you can read this book in an afternoon because it is dense with philosophy, history, and entertaining gossip.I enjoyed the contrast between the "look at me" emotional attitude of Princess Diana (also the Duchess of York and the Duchess of Sussex) and the stoic service oriented path of the Queen. The Queen is playing the long game and so should we.The author has deeply researched countless books and sources as indicated by the index and amusing footnotes.

I'm hooked!
What an enchanting read. And high time someone investigated the real "lessons" this amazing woman offers the world. I loved how the "rules" in the book get progressively deeper and more impactful the further you go in. Starting with a fun look at how the Queen approaches food and drinking, it goes deeper and deeper into her psyche and mental habits until you wind up on the last chapter, understanding how the Queen approaches death itself. Very cleverly done - and something which made the book hard to put down. The parallel scientific research was also an unexpected surprise, but one which helped me understand "why" these rules are so smart and worth following. So nice to also find a chapter (or "rule") on the importance of faith and belief in God in Her Majesty's life. The author could have easily ignored this, but I'm grateful he didn't. Oh, and don't miss the footnotes scattered throughout...they have some of the best bits.

Great Lessons
This was a fun book. And a most instructive one. There are lessons to be learned that one can apply to oneself, and one certainly wishes more parents taught the attributes that make Queen Elizabeth such a royal success to their kids. I’ve already bought one as a gift for a friend who has three daughters, and can’t wait to share with others. And while there is serious information, it’s convenient with such a wonderful tone and a bit of great gossip, that it’s a joy to read.

A Pleasure to Read
This book was a pleasure to read, and the premise is a fun, yet also inspiring one. The author goes into depth looking at some of the Queen’s habits and personality traits, areas that she herself probably doesn’t even think about, since that’s how she’s been living, and I’m sure it’s all second nature to her. This is not just a book about the Queen, but a guide on how to live, and how to make little improvements in one’s life, sort of self-help, but in an engaging way.My only annoyance was all the endnotes. Endnotes drive me nuts on the best of days, but this book really took the cake. Some may be irritated by the author’s bias that clearly comes through. It’s obvious that he doesn’t think too highly of Diana, Harry, and Meghan. Diana, I don’t care for nearly as much as I used to. Harry and Meghan, nope, I don’t like them at all.All in all, I really enjoyed this book, and am considering reading his other one about Jane Austen. My only problem is that I’m not as keen on her as I am on the Queen. Don’t get me wrong. I love “Pride and Prejudice,” but other than that, I struggle with focusing on classics these days.

Witty and Wonderful
I truly enjoyed reading this book. In fact, I have caught myself quoting some advice and tidbits from it to my family and friends. It is witty, well researched and just plain fun and informative to read. I especially enjoyed all of the footnotes which often brought a smile to my face or a soft chuckle. I highly recommend this book and the previous book by this author, The Jane Austen diet.

Perfect blend of royal info, and a little bit of wisdom
I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did! I'm an Anglophile and am always interested in reading about the Queen, so I picked it up. Well, not only did I learn a little bit about her personally, but the author brought out some real truths about her habits and how they have played out in a positive manner. I thought the book might be "gossipy", but it wasn't like that at all. I liked it so much I bought a copy for my mom!

Sweet fun book.
I enjoyed the lessons. A few I’ll try to remember. I love the royals. I saw her coronation when I was little girl. I’ve followed her ever since. Amazing lady

Not an ordinary biography!
A perfect read; I finished it the day before the queen died. It tells how she developed her own ways of life, from the governess’s rules in the nursery and the leadership of her grandmother to her own ways for managing her unique life.

Life lessons!
Same author as the Jane Austen Diet, and his research on both books is excellent. The way the Queen lives makes excellent sense for all of us.

Pigeon poop on the cover is UNACCEPTABLE
This is feedback for the seller/delivery agent - ensure the product doesn't have animal feces on it. The book itself was in good condition, but for a clump of dried poop on the front cover. Ensure this doesn't happen again, Amazon.

Fantastic book
I love this book. Such a unique idea & very intelligent, encourages you to live a more refined life. I learnt a lot from this, so glad I heard about this book. Have just bought the Jane Austen diet book by same author for some more insights!

Surprisingly good book
I thought this would be a light read, which it is, but it is also very well researched with lots of useful thoughts on how to live life well. A great read; highly recommended.
