VP6 Large Lockable Electronic Automatic Pet Feeder Programmable with Timer for Dogs Cats--45 CUP

We were so excited to get this so that we could leave a day or two and not worry about our little dog getting her food. How disappointing it is to find the food dispenser says it's only giving 1/4 cup at a time but when we measured it knowing it was more than that, it was almost 1/2 cup!!! Our little dog devours food but have been told by the vet to watch home much she eats so she doesn't become overweight. Now, we have this machine we HAVE to use this weekend as we don't have time to look for something else and she's going to be getting double her normal amount. Very inaccurate machine! Very disappointed for the price we paid to have this kind of problem. The feeder itself is sturdy enough and we have no complaints about anything but how much food it's shooting out! The whole point of having the convenience of it is gone!

I do not recommend this automatic pet feeder. I have had this item for about 4 months now and it doesn't work consistently. The buttons are on the back to set the time of day, number of times and size of proportion. It is not easy to get to or to see without picking the large (and if full, heavy) item up which causes food to leak, the tray to bend or come off, etc. The only way to change the settings is to have the instructions in front of you, as hey are to difficult to remember without them. The worse part is that it slowly starts dispensing food a little bit later each day. It is now only dispensing one of the three times of the day and is normally not dispensing at all. I've changed batteries, reset it, cleaned it, etc and nothing has helped. It was a waste of $50!

This is the first negative review I have ever left on any product bought through Amazon, and I buy a lot through Amazon. I bought this since the concept is a really great idea. That's about the only good thing that can be said about this product. I used it with the food I got from the breeder (science diet puppy) and on the first day the feeder showed "Err". The food was jamming in the feeder and stopped feeding. Not good if you're planning on having it do the feeding for you. I cleared the error and the feeder and tried several more times and usually within 2-3 feedings the error came back. Since I had planned to switch his food anyway I tried the new food in it hoping the different sized bits would make the difference. On day one I got the same error. One would think this would be addressed before distributing it, but obviously not. Save your money and just get a normal pet bowl or the free flowing feeders for 1/4 of the price.

No longer functions. After 1 month of working fine, it now displays "Err" and won't do anything. Removing the batteries is the only way to reset the "Err" and it immediately goes back. It does nothing when displaying Err, not even the On/Off switch functions. And it doesn't give any regular warning beep to let you know that your pet hasn't been getting food. You just have to notice that your pet is getting really skinny, or no longer makes poop.There is absolutely no reason to buy a non-functioning product that will stop feeding your pet at random without telling you.

Noisy, and a pain to program but it works just fine and it's helping our overweight beagle lose weight

Not critter proof at all. Good product for inside only.

The quantity served do not correspond to the instruction and change evey time and difficult to sync up
