Deore 590 Shimano Cassette Sprocket CS-HG62

I got this to go on a spare set of wheels that have City Tires mounted.The idea being that I can ride my 2x10 mountain bike on the street without wearing down my dirt tires or driving myself crazy with the noise and resistance from the dirt tires.My dirt setup is all XT, but for a cheap set of wheels it seemed like overkil to get a cassette that costs more than the wheel that I was attaching it to. So I ordered this (11-34) figuring that at worst it would be 'OK'.First things first, it is heavier than an XT item. I have no idea how much, it does not matter to me as I am not exactly lightweight.Secondly I totally defy anyone to tell the difference in shift quality between this unit and the XT unit that I have on my other wheels.Shift performance is identical. There is no difference at allThe ratios are exactly the same as the unit I use on the dirt too.But it is half the price.I have a couple of hundred miles on it, I've never missed a shift, never actually noticed any difference between this and its $80 cousin.Save yourself $40 and get this one, it is lovely to ride...

Works well as it should. Definitely a little heavier than the high end XT versions but I wasn't worried about the extra few ounces.

I've bent two of the 10 sprockets on this cassette which came on my trek Excalibur, never had this problem in the past with any others not sure what the issue is. I took it apart and bent them back to be usable but shifting is a bit loud now. Typical shifting under force up hill is what did it. Spend a bit more cash and go for xt if your doing a lot of technical up hills IMO!
