Only lasted 5 months
This is an old Samsung TV. Replacement bulbs usually last a couple of years. This lasted 5 months?

Worked as expected
My 12 year old Samsung HL-S5687W 55" DLP stopped functioning. The image had become quite dim. Plus it would only come on for a very short period of time. Then it would turn off with a thunk and the red and 2 green lights would flash. Sometimes I could restart the TV and it would work but the picture had degraded to a point it wasn't enjoyable to watch. Installing the new bulb assembly is quite straight forward and takes only a few minutes. Now the TV works like new again. And the image is again clear and bright.

DON'T BUY!
I thought that I could save some money on a replacement lamp for my Samsung. Big mistake, I did, but it lasted barely two months. I've learned my lesson, buy an OEM replacement. You'll thank me later.

I think I got a lemon...
I received and installed the lamp into my TV two months ago. Initially the picture quality was bright and all seemed to be well. Now, it’s back to dim and barely visible during daylight hours. Generally we only have to replace the lamp once a year so I’m surprised at how fast this one seems to be failing. Perhaps we got a dud, but I’m definitely going to need a new one soon.

Good... for just about a year
Worked for 14 months and died. Original lasted 10+ years, first replacement 5 years, not same return on investment. Fine while it lasted.

didn't last
lasted a couple of months only, became dimmer and dimmer, until TV signaled failure, found the ceramic holder of the wire that goes to the bulb cracked. Upon detailed observation plastic molding ad other components didn't seem greatly done. So disappointed that I put the projection TV on the side and used a 32" LCD... After six months, today I'm buying from a different place to give it a try, if fail soon I guess it's time for a new TV.
